Bhagat Fareed Jee Bhagat Fareed Jee was a short, yet strong man, born into a rich Muslim family. As he grew older, however, his family started to face poverty. His wife was always telling him to go find some work, make money etc. So one day he sets out and is walking around in the village. Some thieves notice that he just idling around and decide amongst themselves that he would be a great help to them. So they go up to him and ask if he wanted to help them rob people. He thought to himself that he was looking for money and this was a fast and easy way to do it so he agreed. They go and rob a farmer of the wheat in his fields and split it up into sacks. All the robbers t…

I have recieved over the past two weeks a translation of the Sri Dasam Granth by Surinder Singh Kohli which is in three volumes. It has the Bani in punjabi with it written in english how to pronounce it and then the translations after. The second volume alone is about Sri Krishan Avtar and believe it is huge. The only Banis missing are the Sri Charitropakhyan and the Hakayut. Everthing else is in there including the Kalki Avtar and Mehdi Mir avtar. I would suggest getting this and is available on dtfbooks.com for £75. I have other translations but believe me this is the best. Unfortunately this is the last piece by Kohli as he has now passed away.

Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa Sardar Hari Singh is regarded as one of the greatest of Sikh generals. During 1881, European newspapers wrote articles comparing him to the great European Generals such as Napoleon, Field-Marshal von Hindenburg, the Duke of Wellington, as well as Asian Generals such as Haluka Khan and Genghis Khan. The British concluded that Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa was the greatest of them all. With a limited force of men and materials, he freed not only Kashmir and Multan, but also Peshawar state and made them part of the empire of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. Peshawar had been under Afghan control for more than eight centuries after Afghans murdered …

Meeting the Prince When Guru Har Krishan Saheb reached Delhi, Raja Jai Singh came bare-footed to welcome him. He took the Guru to his home, today there is a temple named Bangla Saheb built on this site. Emporer Aurangzeb wished to see the Guru, so he sent a messenger to ask the Guru to see him. The Guru told the messenger that it was his father’s orders never to speak to the king. For this reason he could not meet Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb tried to persuade the Guru to meet him. He sent precious pearls and money to convince the Guru to meet him, but the Guru rejected all of these gifts. Guru Har Krishan Saheb said, “The Guruship is not a…

Another inspirational poem and piece of writting by Professor Puran Singh A SILENT REVOLUTION Our Master, Guru Gobind Singh, called us to death and extinction, for he felt that it was no use living at all without the sense of liberty aglow in us. He gave such a vital and martial timbre even to our prayers that we, for the first time in the history of India, saw that the great love to which our Master was calling was not a prayer of the crushed people, but a prayer of the victorious. Guru Nanak, the first True King, had called us not to love the Beautiful God-Persons of Nature and Creation only, but to be so beautiful as to be loved by Him. The Bhakti feelings of our de…

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I recently read Al-Majorouns message to the world, which showed its mentality. It started me thinking how much we need sensible views and perspectives to be put to our youth and others, to really show them what religion and God are about. Below is just a start, may be others can make suggestions to improve it. Then it can be distributed, and put up on walls, to really get people thinking. An Invitation to Think……… Sometimes it is important for us to just reflect on what is around us, what we are doing and why? It is important to understand what motivates us and why we do the things we do…. So let’s just sit back, thi…

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh The Lost Soul The mirror reflected nothing as I lay seeking the reality beneath the shrouded illusion I had felt close to my heart. Why did I come here, and why was I meant to seek your sanctuary? So many times my heart has bled and yet I have never wanted to leave your side. In my errors, you encircled me with forgiveness, and gave me the next breath of redemption. But why have I come here? Why have you kept my thoughts of you in a heart where it does not belong? Emotions of you? This journey is an endless one, but what becomes of a soul like mine that has yet to tread the first step upon this strenuous crossing? From far I …
