Chardi Kala it can help one win battles or endure suffering This story was told by an African-American pastor at school during mass yes, i go to catholic school There once was boy who did a naughty deed. In punishment, his parents decided that he would eat dinner alone, after everyone else ate, all by himself. So after the family had dinner, they left to go spend family time and have some fun, like they did every other day. The mother set the table for her son, who was to eat alone, and joined the rest of the family Being the good Christian that he was, he always prayed before eating any meal "Thank you lord, for blessing me with this meal today, even in th…

http://www.akj.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=...&highlight= A 10-year-old boy decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident. The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move. "Sensei," the boy finally said, "Shouldn't I be learning more moves?" "This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know," the sensei replied. Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training. Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his…

This article was posted on many Sikh forums and mailing lists a few years ago, and is making the rounds once again. Its worth a re-read. http://www.sikhnet.com/Sikhnet/news.nsf/Ne...33;OpenDocument http://www.realsikhism.com/testimonies/atheism.html http://www.sikhsangat.org/news/publish/ame...eists3452.shtml Dear Ali, please help us. We were very impressed with your website and agreed that religion in general is no longer needed, we can all be humanistic and live in peace and harmony. We are in the process of making a website which will hopefully help to destroy the religious doctrines which divide humanity. We were doing great with knocking out Christianity, Judaism…

http://www.merinews.com/catFull.jsp?articleID=130679 The importance of Kaur Jayati Chakraborty, 01 March 2008, Saturday Have you ever thought why Guru Ji, Guru Gobind Singh, gave the Kaur surname to Sikh women? Why did he not accept the status quo and keep the tradition of the woman's surname being determined by her family's name? WHAT WAS Guru Ji trying to achieve by calling the Sikh woman 'a princess' (literal meaning of Kaur)? To try to understand the possible reasons behind Guru Ji's decision, we need to look at the situation at the time in different cultures. In Indian society, the brides first and last name was often changed after her marriage. This still happe…

"They call me "a teacher, a fomenter of violence." I would say point blank, "That is a lie. I'm not for wanton violence, I'm for justice." I feel that if white people were attacked by Negroes — if the forces of law prove unable, or inadequate, or reluctant to protect those whites from those Negroes — then those white people should protect and defend themselves from those Negroes, using arms if necessary. And I feel that when the law fails to protect Negroes from whites' attacks, then those Negroes should use arms if necessary to defend themselves. "Malcolm X advocates armed Negroes!" What was wrong with that? I'll tell you what's wrong. I was a black man talking about phy…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time Bahadhur Shah had invited Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj to join him in a hunting expedition. Maharaj along with a few of his beloved Singhs agreed to join Bahadhur Shah for this expedition. Guru Ji and Bahadhur Shah both rode on their horses and were followed by their entourages, hounds and hunters. Maharaj was merciful and gave mukhi to many souls that day with his beautiful silver arrows of love which never ever fail to hit their targets. As Bahadhur Shah and Guru Sahib made their way into the heart of the jungle a tiger jumped out and one Buland Khan advanced to kill it. Buland Khan had a …

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Some people have been questioning facts about 1984, State sponsored Sikh killings, etc. This book is a must read if you want the knowledge to answer them. I especially recommend it for those of us who quote figures without knowing where they came from, and to the premi who has been sending me PMs (and most of Sikhsangat apparently) - please read this before sending me anything else. You can download it free from here: http://www.ensaaf.org/docs/reducedtoashes.php Wikipedia review here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reduced_to_Ashes_Book

BAVANJA KAVI BAVANJA KAVI, lit. fiftytwo poets, is how the galaxy of poets and scholars who attended on GURU Gobind SINGH (16661708) is popularly designated. Guru Gobind Singh, NANAK X, prophet and soldier, was an accomplished poet and also a great patron of letters. According to Sarup Das Bhalla, Mahima Prakash, he sent out SIKHS to different parts of the country to invite and bring to him scholars of repute. His instruction was: "Let them bring with them works pertaining to the fields they specialize in." When they came, "the True Guru bestowed great respect and honour upon them and provided for them without discrimination." Although traditionally mentioned to be 52…
