Sangat Ji, i had a question sangat ji, last weekend was the sanjha samagam and it was great. a lot of beautiful sangat came out and contributed. but my question, why stop someone from doing keertan seva, why the restrictions? i was waiting for a certain bhenji to do keertan all night....her keertan inspires me more towards sikhi, and others have told me the same. and when i found out about the restrictions, i was sorta heart broken. we aren't all perfect, and there are many amritdari's who don't even follow rehet, how do we distinguish between all of this, maybe the samagam was not 'sanja' because of this. there was a bibi who is amrit dhari and did keertan during the …

waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh Sangat Ji, I'm a regular attender 2 the Gurdwara Sahib, Singh Sabha southall, (the new Gurdwara). I enjoy going to the Gurdwara alot and love to sit there for @ least an hour and find peace, however for the past couple of days I'm not really being able to pay attention 2 my meditation @ the Gurdwara because ther is this new Gyani, he's been in the Gurdwara for a couple of months now, quite young, and I dont like the way he acts, I'm finding it uncomfortable now. I am honestly so ashamed of my life, that I haven't done anything, all my cousins are teachers and doctors and I am just a lowly customer service representative. My friends is becoming a doctor, my other one is an electrician. Unfortunately, I have such low self confidence in myself, I think I am border line depressed. What should I do, honestly I am so fed up, I dont know why God didn't make me successful?

I am around my mid 20's, and i'm gettin alot of white hairs in my dhari lately. I know, i'm getting old, but these hairs have sort of come on quickly, and every week i find a few new ones. (they are coming at an alarming rate). I know some of you might be like, "you're gettin old, face it"....but its kinda happening quick. All the Singhs my age still got all black. Is there any advice for me, like maybe i got some vitamin deficiency or something...thanx

When doing simran, is it okay to focus on an image in your mind (e.g. Sri Guru Grath Sahib Jee)? I have been trying to do simran without focusing on an image. Someone suggested to me that I try to keep my focus by repeating Vaheguru out loud and listening to what I am saying instead of focusing on an image. I have tried this but I am still having a hard time concentrating. I feel that I need an image in my head in order to focus on God. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
