Lies Breaking Up My Relationship With Family Member
by Guest Need_Advice- 7 replies

What would you do if someone in your family (e.g. brother in law or sister in law) was lying about you to someone in your family (e.g. your sister or your brother) and your sister/brother believed the lie to be true? This is my situation and it has destroyed my relationship with my immediate family member. We do not speak and act like strangers. That person now does not trust me and thinks of me badly. It is making me so sepressed that I am starting to fall into a state of mind where I am starting to blame myself. I have no support from other members of my family, they all get along with the 'liar' fine in order to avoid any further conflict. The liar will never admit t…

I would like to know the meaning of 'slander' as it occurs in Sikhism. 'Slander' it mentioned many times in the SGGS, specifically in Sukhmani Sahib. My understanding of what slander is, is saying untruthful things which are harmful to another persons reputation. But, I have some friends who think that even if we tell the truth about someone that we had a bad dealing with, we are engaging in slander. For example, if we had a bad dealing with an autoshop and they ruined our car & then we told all of our friends not to go there, would that be considered Nindia/Slander? Wouldn't we be doing a good thing by informing others so they don't have to go through the same thing?…

Hi, I was wondering if only women are suppose to wear pajami (leggings) with Bana(Chola) or if Singhs are also given the option of wearing leggings as well. Some people say men should only wear a kachera and not a pajama.

Were we all sikhs in past life?
by Guest Someguy- 7 replies

Hello were we all sikhs in past life? What i mean is that there is a lot of stuff here on this fourm, and alot of it inspires people do to paath and simran, i have personally been inspired as well. So there must have been a reason? In the western world, its hard finding a proper giani from whom we can learn about sikhi. So did guru ji make us find sikhi another way?? And learn about it?? Also if someone does paath this life (starts at a young age like 15), does this mean that they have done something good in there past life/did paath in there previous life, which has made them do paath in this life??

Why do muslims are always challenging everyone!

WGF-WGK I never understood why most muslims are always challenging other peoples faith what they believe in? Why can't they just live and let live? I work in the retail industry with people of all religion and background. it's inevitable the question of religion comes up every now an than but i find the muslims are always challenging everyone else's faith and questioning with things only really scholarly people will ever know. They are always making people and trying to make people doubt about others religion. Is there something wrong with those people? This atheist guy was so brainwashed, to the point, he started going to their religious meetings on every Fridays. I…

10 mins into simran I get a sensation in my chest, I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like something moving round in circles or a slight force pushing down. Sometimes after a while it stops but then 30 mins in it carries on, especially when I get dhiyaan. What is this? It doesn’t really distract me, I’m just curious.

I'm in my 20's, I'm from a very traditional family = don't go out much, no proper friends (tbh I am happy and used to that way as over the years I've seen its benefits) Recently, I've just been feeling like I've lost my personality. So now that I am going through a struggling period in my life and keeping positive/ trusting waheguru ji to answer my ardas (some of you may know my situation from my previous posts) I think its a great opportunity to find/build myself. Things I want to improve on: PROBLEM 1- lack of exciting experience kind of made me seem a little 'boring' at work and I don't go out much, I don't really like watching much TV and don't liste…

How much are things in hukam eg marriage
by Guest Depressed- 7 replies

I am married to a man who takes all his emotions out on me, he is always hostile and angry. When I met him he told me his family were the problem, but now I have realised it is him, he treats me how he treated them, just always being rude, not a supportive bone in his body. He doesn’t want to change and never feels guilty for me always crying. He loves to drink again doesn’t want to stop even if that makes him more moody too. I wish I never married him, I feel so alone and stuck as I also have children. Everyone thinks he is really nice because I’m the emotional punchbag but no one sees this outside. I met him on a birthday party at a bar a…

Motivational Support

Gurfateh readers, My routine has gone out the window lately and I would welcome some support, encouragement to get back on track. Is there anyone here with a good routine or someone who exercises and eats healthy on a regular basis? Would you mind sharing what you do? I would like to start working out again for physical and mental well being. I would like a consistent daily routine, recently I have felt down and found it hard to switch off before bed so been sleeping late. I have children so that means I only have limited time for myself and I do need to be disciplined. Look forward to your replies.

Why do the admins take so long to approve new posts sometimes? I am interested in helping with this seva and would approve posts at least once each day. admin note - COVID
