I really think we should do something about Sikhnet, they are misleading the youth, in the Q & A Forum. For every question the answer is Yoga, and they are making up their own bs to answer all the youth questions, everything is from a Yoga point of view, not a Sikh point of view. Is there anything we can do, becasue I know so many youth depend on that site? VJKK VJKF

Sikhnet & Money 1 2

I know that Sikhnet do lots of seva and they have excellent website, but looking through their 2008 Annual Report and noticed their Payroll is $183,137. There are 5 people working on their payroll so that’s $36627.40 each, that is the biggest expense I only earn $22400, so i am not sure why the sikh community is paying so much to them for their website and the huge wages. Still waiting for a response from them....but somehow i don’t think i will get one. Wondered if anyone here knows?

Sikhs And Dating? 1 2
by Guest Jacfsing2- 16 replies

Can anyone tell me exactly why Sikhs can't date other Sikhs? (If you are from the same religion it shouldn't be a problem). Also if we keep our Rehats during the relationship, wouldn't it help find a suitable partner in the future. Keeping the basic rules of no Adultery and kissing and all that junk. Also I'd like either Rehat Maryada or Gurbani views on this, if it even mentions it.

Sikhs And The Lottery?
by Guest OntarioSingh- 8 replies

I'm pretty sure playing the lottery would be against sikh principles and values as it is essentially gambling (putting money down to get more money). Casinos and stuff are clearly frowned upon and not the right setting for any practicing Sikh. What about the stock market? If I buy 100 shares of Apple, I am essentially putting money down and buying a product (a lottery ticket equivalent). I'm hopeful the stock will increase and I will make money sitting doing nothing while the shares rise and later sell them and make a profit. The same way, buying a lottery (buy 100 stocks) and hoping to win the $50 million jackpot (rise in shares). The only difference perhaps is that…

I won't paste a photo of mine because mine is just a little one (as the vicar said to the choirboy), but, the 'Sikh Bodybuilder, whoever he is, definitely has enough 'go faster' stripes on his car to enable him to go very fast indeed and also just enough to enable him to enter the first class knob category:

Sikhs Are Not Hindus
by Guest --gupt--- 0 replies

Gelöste Frage Nächste Frage » Sikh religion is a sect of Hinduism? The general view on yahoo answers points that Sikh Religion is a branch out of Hindusim. Well this is strange for me. I have started reading Guru Granth (thank God I learned Gurmukhi) and the philosophy is no where near or points in the direction of Hinduism. Then what is this halla-baloo about?? I hope that we close this question here and state for the record that the Sikh religion is a distinct religion and is DEFINITELY NOT a sect of Hinduism. • vor 3 Jahren Beste Antwort - Ausgewählt vom Fragesteller rian30 said: “I know what I am talking about.” Well, then lets start with who are Sikhs in y…

Sikhs are the mexicans of Canada 1 2
by Guest R Sandhu- 16 replies

So, I decided to take the time to post on here as I have been living abroad and come back to Canada to see a rather large influx of Sikhs. Being in the states i have to say there are many parellels between the Mexicans of the states and Sikhs of Canada. The only difference being that the Sikhs of Canada tend to have a better education overall. having said that, its very frusturating seeing a culture that is so steeped in agriculture and the past and the notion of over sentimentality when it comes to "FAMILIES" ...as if having kids is the best thing in the world and nothing else really matters...what about overpopulation? what about science? why do Sikhs focus on such trad…

Sikhs Cannot Wear Turban In Quebec To Player Soccer
by Guest anon- 2 replies

racist quebec is at it again.......just like france MONTREAL -- The Quebec Soccer Federation has decided its ban on turbans will stay. In a decision released Sunday following a Saturday board meeting, the QSF said referees in Quebec must continue to enforce a prohibition on the wearing of turbans, including patkas and keksi. It's the only minor soccer league in the country where the ban is upheld. Soccer leagues across Canada permit Sikhs to play with their religious head coverings. The World Sikh Organization of Canada issued a statement Sunday saying it was “deeply saddened” by the decision and that it will continue to fight the ban in Quebec. FIFA, the internation…
