If everything is prewritten, what’s the purpose of prayer that asks for things from god. Are we suppose to do such prayers or just stay in guru’s hukam, because i think gurbani preaches both which is contradictory.

WaheGuruji ka khalsa WaheGuruji ki Fateh 🙏 WaheGuruji recently Blessed me with Amrit and by his grace, i have been reciting and learning Gurbani and kirtan since the age of 5 (22 now) but my life is filled with problems, i have not recieved any happiness until now. I got anxiety and depression due to overthinking. I am afraid that my faith will start to shiver this way 🙁 what do i do ? I want to discuss something I’m going through. My grandfather moved from neighbouring pind to our current pind, at that time my father was little. My grandfather barted some land in this pind from our original pind. I was born here in this pind. The real problem is I want to marry a girl from our current pind, She’s also very serious to get married. so, i'm in year 12, uk. my parents are like sort-of connected with sikhism, but not much. they still eat meat and modify the hair, and while i try not too. my parents forces me to like remove the hairs and eat the meat and i try not to but i most of the time don't win and i feel guilty. i wanted to take amrit, but my parents don't let me and say im too young. i've learnt gurmukhi and the rehat myraada from online and gurughar. every time i take a step towards being a sikh, they pull me back. i feel like i'm losing my faith what should i do? should i give up or should I wait till i'm more control of my life?

promotion on black guys on sikh tv?

Hi I have noticed on UK sikh/punjabi channels, at least 3 adverts now, for punjabi/indian businesses, either promoting black guy-asian lady relationships or randomly showing black kids (no other race). This in the space of 6 months. Just watching normal English tv, every other advert is showing interracial black guy-white/asian/other-non-black women relationships. this doesn't seem random and seems kind of creepy. Now the idea is showing up sikh/punjabi channels. It's kind of obvious there is some kind of "Kaliargi"/eugenics brainwashing going on. Just to make Sangat aware, because awareness is the best defense against any kind of brainwashing.

WJKK WJKF My grandparents are coming from India in a few months and they are amritdhari. My grandfather has had a leg injury and cannot walk as much as he used to. I assume when I have to sleep on the floor in my basement so they can use my bed, they will be Reading gurbani on it. I have an issue with this though. I have had nocturnal emissions on my bed, and when I was younger, I wet the bed. The smells of the urine are completely gone as it has been over a decade since this occurrence, but it is still there. Hello, my faith is wavering, I have tried to upload this many times but it never has. I am not sure who to talk to about this as there is no one I am comfortable to share my thoughts. But I am struggling with religion and how to choose the right one. How do we know sikhi is the right religion rather than religions like islam and christianity. I used to be confident as a kid but as I grow up I am not as sure and lack faith. I wonder if it is because our community is small? Or fear mongering from the Abrahamic faiths Any advice or experience would be very helpful.

Guru pyaari sadh sangat jee, I am writing this post with a heavy heart. I already know the answer in my heart but I want to write this down somewhere. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.

Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
