Recently, I've been thinking about death a lot (this is what happens when I'm left all alone at night!). I'm only 25 but I've already realised that I will die and I am in no way prepared for it. I've gotten scared of it, to the point I sometimes cry myself to sleep. I've realised that the only hope I have is merging with Maharaj because then I will have achieved the point of human life. But I don't think I can make it. Have come to realise why all those sadhus and sants would run off into the jungles etc to meditate - because 'real life' gets in the way - jobs, families, etc. I sometimes want to do the same because it's so difficult to meditate. It's getting to the p…

Sikh Intermarriage 1 2 3 4

Hi Everybody, I am twenty four years old and a Sikh woman. I was born into Sikhism, but I am not amrit shakh or baptized. I believe in God, in being a good person, in love and not in hate...in equality. I think Sikhism is a beautiful religion but the truth is I do have trimmed long hair (so it is not unshorn) and I eat meat, I have dated three people...I'm not a "perfect" Sikh, but I love my family and we are very close - and my grandparents' generation - my grandparents on both sides of my family have always been extremely religious, and a very well known and respected traditional Sikh punjabi family in my community. Two of my grandparents often speak at the gurdwar…

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh! i just wanted to start this topic again...so we can see for ourselves what it means to judge others and also to judge our own selves. we sometimes are soo cruel to not just others but to the self as well. it can be very dangerous to do that. lets put our thoughts here, learn from each other, what it means to be judgmental, is it important? is it necessary sometimes? how does it affect us, u me and people living around us, in living a proper life(life to the fullest)? if u can think about more questions...post thm. posting real life situations where judging someone or urself has helped or damaged u would be great.=) and ho…

Scent Of A Gursikh

Fateh sangat ji, At the end of my amrit sanchar the panj pyare said a gursikh has mehk (scent). I used to think that this meant that Gursikhs would have an aura about them because of their kamai and good deeds. But know I honestly believe they let off a beautiful smell of flowers. Bhai Jasbir Singh khanna wale has also mentioned this in a katha. He said that even when they die they let off this smell. Please can you tell me your views and provide any quotes from Gurbaani to prove this. Thank you!

I have also seen the same people who say that kind of stuff say that sikhi is a 'vedic' religion, but i know thats not true after a article i read from 'hum hindu nahin' by bhai kahn singh nabha. please help?

Gurbani - Help

Ok does anyone here listen to Amrit Bani radio on Sky? I'm sure people do, anyway usually just before 1am (right before the Sukhmani Sahib) they play Waheguru Simran. A girl or woman is who recites it and it's beautiful, I'm been going crazy trying to find out where I can get the Shabad from but have had no joy so if anyone has any remote ideas then please, please, PLEASE let me know in this topic. It's a very melodious version of Waheguru it goes "Waheguru, waheguru, waheguru, waheguru wahe jeo" and keeps on repeating. ANY ideas welcome. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh.
