Dear Sangat, I have to get this off my chest! Just yesterday/today a friend and I broke it off and called it quits. We were "best friends" for about 2 years. She's a muslim convert and I'm a sikh. Why we called it quits? Religion. I know that in Sikhi, we are supposed to be tolerant towards others beliefs, and see that God is the same for everyone. So, for these past 2 years, I kept this in mind every time she would mention islam. However it came to a point where she was sending me emails; videos, links, articles on Islam or that mention Islam. (she never pushed me to become muslim, but she felt that since i'm spiritual, I'd read it or something)... I never sent her Sik…

I just wanted to know why we should not point our feet towards Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee? There is a Sakhi of when Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee went to Mecca and he had his feet towards the Kabba and when the priest turned them around the Kabba moved with GUru Ji's feet, and GUru Nanak said that God is Everywhere so it does not matter where my feet are placed... So I was just wondering why we shouldnt point our feet towards Guru Ji?

Are there any psychologists on here? I am going to graduate this year and want to know if there are gursikh psychologists that i can confer with? I know it is a white based area (don't mean to be racist). My tutor told me himself (he's white). He said there are not many ethnic minority people around in psychology and that they are looking for more psychologists from different ethnic backgrounds. please help!

Fateh! I was totally on 'the dark side' before Maharaj Ji took pity and sorted me out. The thing is, I had a 'relapse' today and did some very stupid things which I thought I would never do again......Anyway, I'm back now but feel really really ashamed. Wjkk Wjkf! Hey I am thinking about taking amrit in the future...but I just wondered something of which I am pretty confused about. After a girl takes amrit do they have to wear a dastar or patka. I know amrit dhari girls that do wear dastar and some that don't wear dastar or patka but are both amrit dhari. Is there any right or wrong? Can you still b an amrit dhari girl and not wear a dastr or patka? :lol: Wjkk Wjkf!

Sat Sri Akal, I have been away from my parents for two years. I am working in IT and having a good project, nice team and a lot of respect. But my parents are very old and they want me to leave job and go back to Punjab.We have good agricultural land in Punjab. I am somewhat confused, i know there is nothing in my life more important than my parents so i am thinking of leaving job. Please guide, my parents will not leave Punjab. Regards

back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
