This Gyani at a Gurdwara said we shouldn't do Nitnem and watch films or go to cinemas at the same time. He said we shouldn't say one thing and do the other. He mentioned a Pauri from Sukhmani Sahib. So now i try to watch only the news. I can understand why the Taliban banned the TVs. Documentaries are okay because you learn something from them.

Mushrooms :lol: I'm not gonna post under my username, coz ill jus get criticised for not being serious. this is such an EMBARRASSING fear! what should i do. they really really freak me out, i dont know what it is. theyre just repulsive, n i cant go near them. i was helping my mum to cook the day before last, n we were making tharee, n i shoved the usual paneer n stuff in.. n my mum got a bag of mushrooms out, washed them n started cutting them. as soon as i saw them i totally freaked out, n started shaking. legged it out of the room n didnt come back! havent told anyone about this fear coz its so bloody stoooopid. why would someone be scared of MUSHROOMS?! aaaaarg…

Lets say you go to a place to study where there are hardly any Sikhs, and you are an Amritdhari. Due to financial strains on you and your family, you have to live in an apartment with other people who are Indians, but both non-Sikh and non-Punjabi, and perhaps even non-vegetarians, smokers and drinkers. Living with them would be something that would be the last thing on your list, but due to circumstances, and to remove financial stress from your parents you are forced to do it. How do you go about it? I am asking as in the near future I may be stuck in such a situation. So the question is: What if? What then?

I was reading some post by a Hindu about Sikh "militants" and he made a comment that judging by postings on Internet forums, many British Sikhs seem to have severe difficulties in writing plain English. I have read some of the postings and they seem to be full of slang and terrible spelling mistakes as a standard. Is there any truth in this?

i've been having these strange experiences recently and i put it down to imagination, then realised i weren't imagining it. this only happens when i pray , but when i pray i see things and they're not nice and not normal. why i see them while i pray stumps but im seeing them.y im seeing that at all, stumps me even more. i was doing my nitnem and i saw it, i had the gutka in my hand and started to concentrate more, but even wen i close my eyes its was still thre in my head jus i like saw it in reality. waking up at amirtvela is geting difficult cus the house is so silent and these things aren't helping by distracting me. at first i wern't scared cus i no the power of Gur…

I realise that when people do ardaas they say 'anjaan bacheh sumjeeh keh maaf karnaa', however only recently i realised that i've been saying 'waheguru jee aap jee di bachee sumjeeh keh maaf karna'... and i've been doing this for a while noe, as i have been amritdhari for several years. SSA to all fellow Sikhs, I have small query. If we are supporting this movement of independent state. Will it be land locked country? A sea connection is big must for any nation to get forward in trade what people think on this. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
