  1. A few days we decided my dad will go to India next week, so shopping had to be done this weekend. While we were shopping dad spotted jackets on sale, he bought about 10 or so to pass out to people that looked cold. When I said it was a nice thing that the poor people would apperciate it, I got scolding right there in the store. My father would like to remind everyone not to label people poor or rich because you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. When you label people, you make it hard for them to break out of the label.

  2. I know a lot of the guys who fought against this, when Jack Straw himself was the nation's home secretary. He personally knew exactly what the Sikh guys were fighting against and kept his mouth firmly shut. The machinery of the country (i.e. the courts and media) went even further and criminalised the apnay fighting this stuff by portraying them as racists and even having some imprisoned and put on 'gang files' which effected their future career prospects. The truth is that the undercurrent racist nature of the English system meant that they didn't want to rock the boat with the potentially large Muslim vote bank when the girls being abused were apneaan. Fast forward a few years, with Labour out of power, Jack Straw decides to open his mouth now, and I'm pretty sure the rightward lurch of the country isn't lost on him and he is opportunistically trying to get into the Islamophobic white good books now with a eye on future votes. Yes, I too hope it is the beginning of the end of something some of us have been highlighting and fighting for a while now. But I sincerely hope that no apnay get fooled into thinking the people who now seem concerned about the issue (when it has effected their own white community), are in any way 'friends' of ours or allies. These people sold us down the road before and they'd do it again without hesitation if they felt it in their interests. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Self reliance is the way forward for the U.K. Sikh community. We need to smarten up about who genuinely has our interests at heart and those sly people who just pretend to - when it suits them. I hope and pray you guys fully understand what this means for us in the U.K.

  6. have you tried raising more awareness about this project by having a promo shown on all 3 Sikh channels? A good promo like the one Khalsa Aid has will be very effective in galvanising support.

  7. I personally wouldn't go that far. If harmless kiddies bday celebrations were to take place (without the boozing and meat), I wouldn't have an issue myself. Nothing antiSikh is taking place. Unless I'm missing something?

  10. Paa jee, these people are incredible hypocrites. I knew a little about Africa but the child sex trade is massive in Asia, in particular South East Asia. There are booklets, tour guides, girls for sale that are being raped by hundreds of men from this country, on an annual basis, yet the media stays silent. Utterly disgraceful. Having been to these countries for business I have seen it first hand, men, in their middle ages with young girls sitting on their laps. But the media, particularly the right wing media won't mention because they are white and middle class and the children are coloured and from the Third World. WaheGuru protect all innocents.

  11. Waheguru Ji, we had to delete about 40 posts full of personal attacks and offtopic comments. Singho/Singhnio, please waheguru ji, can we not stick to the topic without taking everything personally? Please remember a lot of non sikhs visit our forums as well, just imagine the kind of image we are projecting to rest of the world with our petty fights.. there are far bigger issues facing panth right now waheguru jeo, you all know that much more than me, so lets just do ardass in maharajs feet and conserve our energy for more positive actions jeo? Maafi if i sound like im bossing around waheguru ji but please do consider this benti in your feet.. Dhanvaad!

  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop, Sadh Sangat Ji, Please find recent Newspaper articles. We hope this is the beginning of the end to this underground abuse culture. We hope that with the Kirpa of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Mahraaaj, the sewa of Sikhs who worked to highlight these issues to west Midlands police, Central police, Scotland yard and eventually to Government agencies has had some fruition. We need to continuously highlight this form of abuse and it's historic links of degrading the "enemies izzat". These practises do exist today in a much hidden and more sinister way. We need to persue changes in the Law to accommodate this form of crime. 15. Guru Maharaj and many purataan Sikhs have given partakh darshan to people. When they have the power to give partakh darshan then why would they resort to entering a woman's body and speaking through her? Channeling has no place in Sikhi and there is no way to verify what kind of spirit has entered her body. Sometimes a powerful spirit can enter someone and give 95% proper info and help; but the other 5% of information they give may actually lead to great nuksaan on those whose trust they've gained.

  16. OK, I actually just watched some of the video. The women's probably got mental health issues. I'm saying this in seriousness, not as some sort of insult. She probably believes she is Mata Gujri in her own head. The biggest issues here to my mind is why thE heck so many apnay jump so quickly into some pakhandi baba sant dera. They should know better and in the end this just highlights a complete lack of faith with Sikhi anyway.

  21. Geo, * look at maryada and then maybe you will understand no removing or dying kesh anywhere on your body. What is the point of taking amrit if your gonna do stuff like this. People like you are the problem, and thats why bibiya do stuff like this as they feel men judge them too much for having kesh. If guys were more supportive it may not be such a problem. Also if people didnt take amrit for a joke. Whatever guru ji says we must accept not question and then think upon it and then maybe accept it. Also to add we have far to much to worry about in the panth, than how a bibi looks with or without kesh. Maharaj blessed us with kesh so get over it and lets make a jeevan for ourselves.

  22. Let's not miss the opportunity for developing a close emotional bond between kids and Gurdwaray if we can. Kids are kids and the best way to teach them is through fun things. If there earliest memories of Gurdwaray are positive and fun then it will go along way in my opinion. We should try and make it someplace more than where the young just run around or are forced to sit and listen to stuff they have no hope of understanding. This doesn't necessarily involve breaking out the tumbhi, dhol etc. by the way..... I'm digressing, that is a whole other topic about the possible role of Gurdwaray with very young kids in the diaspora. Admin feel free to delete this post should it be deemed too off topic. Thanks.

  23. Last time people made noise about this in London even the head of the MET police force at the time (Paul Condon) essentially told us to shut up and stop making stuff up! Now that white girls are getting it, the country starts to take notice.... Underlying this is white racist bull that couldn't care a toss if Sikh girls are getting abused but start to give the issue prominence when white girls get targeted. Moral of the story is to always rely on ourselves and not go to these goray tossers with our problems in future.

  30. how contradictory? how is guru granth sahib going to give you gurmantar? I mean gurmantar is written in there but not by any of our guru's, infact only by Bhatt Swaiye. So how would you get gurmantar? You're one to talk, you keep misinterpreting bani... If you show me where Bhai Gurdas ji writes there will only be 10 guru's I will believe it... that means that Guru Granth Sahib is not Guru now though? Your the only pakhandi here mate, making people believe your misinterpreted version of bani.

  31. Monty Panesar is a really good sikh cricket player who plays for England, He may have passed this Norman Tebbits' Cricket test but we as indviduals can not, until we support England as indviduals (which i do). I know plenty of sikhs who are always wearing indian cricket tshirt, so monty panesar does not represents them infact monty panesar does not represents anyone as a cricket fan. How do you explain all the pakistani fans at OT cheering for Pakistan? Because logically they should have passed Norman Tebbit's test because a muslim player was playing the test for England as well (Sajid mehmood). So to answer your question, no we as sikhs have not passed and can not pass the so called cricket test until we as indviduals support England cricket team.

  32. If you say ANYTHING with conviction and with force, you'll be convincing. Sikhs generally have so much self-doubt they can't pull this sort of parchaar off. And the fact is that there are NO contradictions in Sikhi or major problems like Islam and the other faiths. But regardless, we are so insecure, we can't do it. At any rate, look at the brilliant logic this guy uses to justify polygamy. He claims a woman has no worth or option but to get married or be "public property" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X65F9w0Neo Also, please have a look at some moderate Moslems debating how much Islam allows the beating of women. What a beautiful and modern religion!

  33. Marriages of Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji When Guru Ji reached the age of 18, his personality and beauty reached its peak. He was very attractive. Guru Ji was of medium build and slim. Guru Ji's beautiful face was showing the first signs of very fine facial hair. He is said to have possessed such an attractive personality tht anyone who saw him could not resist hugging him. Mata Gujri, the mother of guru Sahib Ji thought that it was time to marry Guru Sahib Ji. Guru Gobind Singh Ji got married to Mata Sindari Saroop from Lahore on Vaisakhi day 1684. The climate prevailing in the country did not allow Guru Ji to go to lahore, instead the marriage took place at Guru Ka Lahore. According to the Mahan Kosh Granth, Guru Ji's wife Mata Sundari Ji was from Lahore. She was the daughter of Bhai Ram Saran Kumrau Patri . Many thought that this was Guru Sahib Ji's second marriage but it seems more than likely that Mata Sundari Ji's name prior to marriage was Mata Jito Ji. It was most likely ji that Guru Ji named her Sundari Saroop. Two different names led to the assumption of two different marriages and hence two different partners.

This is for real and for those who don't believe it, just go to Bhuntar, Himachal Pradesh, see it with your own eyes. Please do not post any bad comments about this video. Even if you do not beleive in this. Mata ji gives darshan , preaches sikhi and bani, and solves problems of human beings. You can visit the Gurdwara on Sundays only.
