  1. Gurfateh, Guru roop saddsangat jeo dhan, dhan, dhan sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaj have listened to all the sangat's Ardasa and blessed the Mata Sahib Kaur Sikh Academy with an extention of a further 28 days to collect the monies required to help save the Academy from closure ! Seeing the response worldwide and the amazing sum of £80,200 donated from all over the UK in just over an incredible 12 days, Natwest bank have confidently given the Khalsa enough time to ensure that the house of God named after our true mother will stay open (for all her children) for a lot longer than we will be on in this world ! Khalsa jee whilst thanking all the saadsangat from all over the world, the seva team from the Academy would still like to reiterate if there are still any questions regarding the current/historical situation at the academy please feel free to either phone on 07540 646982 or ideally come in person to the academy. Once again all suggestions, ideas and even critcisms are all very much appreciated in all aspects of the seva of the Academy, but please (to those that can geographically) come and physically show us, teach us, guide us, not just in theory but more importantly in practice, as proved to us via our Guru sahib's amazing jeevans. The seva team, sangat and the children of the Academy have all been running around like crazy over this weekend, trying to collect as much seva as possible prior to todays meeting, unfortunately this has made it difficult to keep all the worldwide sangat updated, for this we all apologize. With Guru jee's apaar kirpa these last 2 weeks have proved beyond any doubt that the Khalsa Panth is very much alive, unified under the one Nishan sahib of our eternal Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaj. Dhan Guru Dhan Pyaray Gurfateh

  3. This should be a good example to all those who keep on harping on Khalistan. When you cant even run a Gurudwara properly...when you cant even run Punjab properly , with all the sikhs in power.........how can you expect to run a country ?

  4. Sadh Sangat Ji, I hope all the Sadh Sangat is well and in good health. I would like to make all the Sikhs aware that 'Slough Singh Sabha Gurdawara' on Sheehy Way has purchased premises on Stoke Poges Lane. The premises are for the purpose of building a hall for parties. As the committe are aware that there will be backlash regarding this project - they have chosen to de-link the premises by calling it 'Falcon Sports Centre'. The primary function is to have parties and all the funding is from Sadh Sangats' money. I ask all the Sadh Sangat to write to the committe strongly protesting against building premises for holding parties where alchol and meet is consumed. Also the activities after completion needs to be monitored. If truely they choose to use the premises as a Sports Complex and for educational purposes I wish them best of luck, as this is what the community needs but I feel this is not true. Also if this is the case they could have named it 'Slough Singh Sabha Sports Complex'!!!!

  6. I agree on the viewpoint that the perception of sikhi and the mode of presentation matters a lot as to the impression that is created on malleable minds.I am a case in Point. Most of My Cousins are Cut Surds and most of them have studied in Khalsa School where most of the students have got into Drugs, gangs and sexual promiscuity .And i hardly got to witness what actually sikhi is like . My perception of Sikhism was limited to Punjabiyat that meant being a Bully , Nourishing a Machismo , Hogging Whisky,Beer and being Bad ie I hope U understand what i mean. Many of them smoke . I came across the true picture of Sikhi on SikhSangat which helped me understand what it actually means to be a Sikh. Many youth are being misled by the perceptions that these Clean shaven Bhangra Artists create and end up emulating them by adopting their Lifestyle..So All people who think that these Bhangra Artists have achieved something however miniscule it may be are Mistaken as these Bandars are distorting Sikhi.

  9. I totally agree with Kalyugi here, Pyara jee's statement wasn't throwing any ego or accusation or anything like the reply which was given with moderators notes all over it. What kind of sikhs are we, one minute hot headed next minute all cool and it's maharajs kirpa!!! If the sevadaars came on this website asking for donations then they are also duty bound to provide all the answers to level headed questions posed. I mean i have contributed and want to contribute more but cannot do so till we know what are the plans for the future so this doesn't go belly up again!! Simple maths -- is all that is requried

  11. my definition of shaheeds?? they are the panths shaheeds....not mine...i hope you burn in narak for disrespecting the shaheeds of the khalsa panth....secondly we didnt get khalistan because we lost support from the sikh kaum...primarily due to the black cats...and our people not knowing the difference between a singh and a cat...clealry you kow nothing about the movement and nothing about shahadat....this is not difference of opinion this is difference of ideology....the sikh kaums definition of shaheedi is getting cut piece by piece and still wanting to fight in the battlefield in support of truth justice and righteousness...it seems to me bhuddist form of shaheedi is burning yourself....you claim the monks shaheedi brought success in that he gained media attention to the conflict in vietnam...i assure you america did not care for one monbk burning himself....america left because of the sheer determination of the NVA and vietcong forces trying to unite their country.....tyrants are not swayed by self immolation!!...i would like to see this monk brun himself infront of hitler and the nazis...they would probably laugh...because their job got a whole lot easier... are you comparing the khalsa to mullahs trying to blow up a statue?...its easy to run your mouth behind a computer screen!

  12. Again I am not comparing shaheeds or movements here, you initially bought up lame arse comment on to this thread, Khalsa should be against oppressive regime, that buddhist monk did what he believed in for his people and bought change to government.. .he should not be mocked or belittle just because his approach was little different than your definition of shaheeds...at the end, it bought results that he wanted..gov't bend over in pressure... I am sure those shaheed figures you posted must be highly disappointed on your lame arse comment...instead of mocking and belittle each other way of fighting oppression, why don't we appreciate diversity? I am not expecting you to respect diversity outside of religion..thats too much to ask anyway but lets look within panth, as i said earlier, The problem with new age youth order is, they will big up one form of shahedi yet totally ignore/belittle other form of shaheedi which our gurus, and our soorma's like baba bir singh ji naurangabad attained...may be thats why we don't have khalistan? perhaps little change in attitude? Khalsa should change its tactics adjust with times, at this very current moment, I don't see not even single person in the panth, pro-actively promoting wikileaks- war by pen against tryanny governments.. why ? again comes down to cham of the person? stuck in same guerilla war thinking? Not saying guerilla war is bad, as its required according to time, khalsa is flexible should adjust its tactics with times, not just some crazy taliban mullah blowing up statues to prove a point.

  13. Only five, I will respond to your post afterwards, whenever i have little bit more time, but if you wish just talk about act itself regardless of reasoning, read up life of bhai gurmukh singh aurdsa (premi of sant baba gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale), he too self immolated him at the funeral of sant maharaj baba gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale). I am sure by your standards, that was suicide too (maha manmat) http://www.sikhaware...?showtopic=5060

When daas was blessed with amrit I remember panj saying its ok, just dont eat anything until you are wearing ur kirpan again and do ardas to maharaj for forgiveness saying that there was nothing you can do. they cant make you take your turban off, but i suppose if they want to search u u have to agree, just make sure its in the most respectufl way like going into a private room ,etc.

  17. How is he a mahan Shaheed when he burned himself to bits. Thats called suicide and Gurmat does not agree with it. His cause could have been righteous but his way of dealing with it was wrong. Why burn yourself when you can pick up a sword.

  18. Paji with all due respect if you listen to katha of this prasang by mahapurakh they say that the sword was not able to cut maahraj's sees; maharaj themselves disjoined their head from their deh and it fell into the sevaks hands. Maharaj ji willingly gave up their sees. Another example although in a different context is when Bhai Gurmukh Singh ji Audeesa jumped into the fire where Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh ji'd antam sanskaar was happening, out of pyaar.

  19. Okay let's look at what you just said. I'm not going to ask for which Saint said it or ask of the katha, but if you can provide this katha, I really want to listen to it. This story which you provide still does not equate to what the monk did. What the monk did is clearly suicide, where he had the intention to take his own life and no one else was forcing him to do it, against his own will. The events before Guru Sahib shaheedi explains Guru Sahib fulfilled his duty, whether the sword took his head or not. Guru Sahib presented a solution to the problem and the Muslim rulers accepted it; a King's head to save Hindus from being killed. Say for example Guru Sahib had taken his head off without even letting the Muslim rulers servant apply the force of the sword to his head and try to cut it off, then it could be said the act was suicide, (the intention to take his own life). Guru Sahib didn`t wait for the Muslim ruler to give his finally orders and he decide to do what he choose, which is suicide. This is strongly against Sikhi. But this is not true (just used to show the difference). The servant of the Muslim ruler applied the force and had every intention to cut the head off of Guru Sahib. And Guru Sahib knew no matter how hard the guy tries, his head would not have been cut off. This will leave an agreement he made with the Muslim rulers not fulfilled. Regardless, on how the head was removed from the body, the act of force was there and because of this force that was applied, the act in itself is not suicide or equal to what the monk did. Sri Waheguru ji's Hukam was being fulfilled in the Ninth form. Now look at the monks act. The monk planned to burn himself alive. He planned to get his disciple to pour the gasoline over him. He sat there at his own will with the intention to take his own life, without any force. He completely knew that he was taking his own life. No one pushed/applied force/ against his mind(will) to burn him. He decided on his own that I will take my life. Show me where in Gurbani it says any human can take their life for any reason. Gurbani repeats many times to us that, the body and soul is Sri Waheguru ji and we must obey the Hukam of his command, by letting Sri Waheguru ji take the soul at his command. The reason why the monk took his life is irrelevant to the act of burning himself alive. The Hukam of Sri Waheguru ji to take the soul when he commands is higher than the reason. We read in Sri Japji Sahib his command is the highest of all. Now why are people making that same Hukam lower than a reason? Let death come to you and not the other way around, where you force death upon yourself. We know Sri Waheguru ji, himself came in the form as the first Nanak to the tenth Nanak, but still, we want to question our Guru`s actions and then equate them to a monks obvious suicide. Sri Waheguru ji in the Satguru`s form showed us how to act according to his Hukam. Gurbani is Sri Waheguru ji's Hukam and we need to follow it. If Bhai Gurmukh Singh ji jumped onto the fire, then that is called suicide. And Sikhi strongly condemns taking your own life for any reason. If someone forces their mind(will) on you and life is taken then that is not suicide or against Gurmat. To deprive another from life is not the victims fault, but to deprive yourself of life at the mind's will is the victims fault and Sikhi does not agree with it. Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj said the rehat is more dear (meaning i love the rehat more) to me than the Sikh. Bhai Gurmukh Singh ji should have followed this teaching of Satguru. I'm not taking anything away from Bhai Gurmukh Singh ji, but it's Satguru's teaching.

  20. I would hazard a guess that you're under 30 and have not experienced much of the world outside of Sikhi, and maybe even outside of the UK (or whichever country you reside in)?? May I recommend that you get some time in...!! and more importantly get out amongst the non-amritdhari community to gain an appreciation of what their views are. We as amritdharis sometimes think we are superhuman and superior, when actually we must remember that we are the dust beneath the feet of others. This the last post I will submit to this thread. Please forgive me if I have offended you in any way by posting my remarks. Humble regards Daasakedaas
