  1. 3HO - Friends or Enemies in Friends clothing? This topic starts with that question. My humble verdict is 3HO=Friends. There is a lot they need to get right about their rehnee behnee kehnee and sehnee as Sikhs, but so do ,I and so do you. Sikhi is an infinite journey, a river, a flow, a progression from level to level to level to level. As much as Sikhi is about a community or a community within a community, Sikhi is also about the individual in any one sub community. And all individuals within a community are not the same. The ultimate question is a very simple one. Does an individual belonging to any community of Sikhs consider deep in her or his hidden self Guru Gobind Singh as their Father(Pita Kalgidhar Dashmesh) and Guru Granth Sahib as Guru Ultimate. Then, that inner sambandh, will become an unbreakable thread and powerful spiritual missile that will propel one into the orbit of the Guru's universe ultimately getting buried in the earth of the Guru's Supreme Consciousness. The sampradaya, the jetha, the group one belongs to, are just optional launch pads for the individual soul. Some people need them and some dont. That is why high level gurmukhs of a particular sub group pick no quarrels with others because they realise what really matters is the journey of an individual soul. Saying that, it is imperative that at the highest level of organisation of the Sikh Panth, there needs to be a specific overseeing regulatory body that supervises jethas and groups, ensures they are responsible and transparent, and ensures that boundaries do not get blurred and lines are not crossed, that would constitute anti gurmat and be counter productive to Sikhi and Sikhi parchar.

  2. They certainly are a very slick outfit when it comes to selling products influenced by Sikhi iconography. Although I wouldn't tar them all with the same brush.

  3. Anandpur Sahib for me was the most peaceful. The people i met there were the nicest, you can leave your car doors open and it would still be there a week later. The water and rivers are crystal clean. All this is near impossible to find elsewhete in Punjab, as looters and druggies are sadly everywhere. The Gurdwara where Baba Gurditta ji left his body is surrounded by beautiful scenry. Anandpur Sahib was definetely the best. We even stayed at the Haweli their, which is publicly owned. Usually any Government run institution is corrupt, but was it a shock how well it is kept. The Singh who was the manager of the Haweli, personally came and showed us all the historic Gurdwaras in and around Anandpur Sahib. No he was not in it for the maya, was a sharda wale Singh. Very critical of Badal etc . Hemkunt Sahib in the summer. Sorry if i come across as incoherent, typing from my phone.

  6. Iroc, How do you know they don't get up at amrit-vela and do simran? were you there? The reason i feel strongly about this whole 3ho saga because i have seen their dedication with my eyes- they dress up in bana while we adapted ferengi lifestyle, they get up at amrit vela and do sadhana while our missionary brothers have attitude- mind has to be clean only with seva not naam simran. 3HO are most mis-understood group out there and its just not fair..piece of suggestion- try to look for common ground and bridge/unity than dividing on differences...There is a unity within diversity..isn't what most senior gurmukhs from walks of life did- have we forgotten mutual respect shown by bhai fauja singh akj and 3ho in his letter back and forth? have we forgotten baba nihal singh mutual respect with 3ho? have we forgotten mutual respect shown by sant jarnail singh bhindranwale? No one can shove shariat in anyone's throat. It comes automatically with understanding..in cyber space people already tried shoving shariat in people's throat, look what happened..classic example- harjas kaur khalsa who got soo tired of listening and engaging in right wing parchar- she revolted went totally left wing. Now she posts on rss forums..!! Look all i m saying- these 3ho singh and singhani's need sense of direction but who's does not need it? unless one is true khalsa(bhramgyani), lets not demonize and de-moralize them, may be help them while engaging with them..they have left all their friends/families for sikhi...and irony is - their family members call them they are following the cult(sikhi) and here punjabi sikhs following same mindset and accuse of being in a cult..they are being demonized from both sides..!!

  7. You can sing in raag, but i don't know how you can read in raag. so i would assume if you're reading, it's not in raag. There is santhiya available for kuchaji, suchaji, and gunvanti banis, it's on the first page of this thread or find at gurmatbibek.com . No, Lavaan is not only for weddings. It is really about how to milap(unite) with the lord, so it's great to read this bani. And I heard that you will never reincarnate as a bhooth, no matter your karam, if you read Lavaan. (was told this when doing santhiya)

  9. Absolutely awesome. THIS is what Khalsa Raaj should be. Not an all-conquering army putting non-Sikhs to the sword as some are secretly hoping. So these are the words of Bhai Randhir Singh? I must get a hold of more of their work ---- sounds like they know the score!

  10. Bhai Saib Randhir Singh Ji on the Sikh freedom struggle: "In our history the great heroes of the Sikh Panth have already set many noble examples for us and we have to abide by those. Our aim is not to seek political power but to eliminate slavery, and despotism. Swarajya for us does not mean capturing power and enjoying the luxury of high living, but to establish the rule of dharma, righteousness in all its aspects, we must remain free from the lust for power. This is the great lesson our Saviour Guru Gobind Singh taught us. Even if we have our own rule, we are never going to submit to the rule based on injustice and discrimination. Any Government, native or foreign, which tries to suppress our legitimate demands, and perpetrates tyranny and oppression, and causes injury to our religious sentiments, will have to face our opposition, and by the help of God we will uproot it. On seeing humanity living in peace and happiness, the Sikh should feel happy. On seeing humanity in sorrow and suffering the Sikh should be grieved. But whatever service we do to humanity or our country, it should be done under sublime inspiration and noble principles of Gurmat (Sikh Philosophy). The Light we received from our true devotion to God and the Guru should be the guiding principle of our fight for righteousness. A service of humanity done under this sublime inspiration of the Guru would be the true service of humanity. The love for God can thereby be the sole guiding motive for service and love for humanity. Remember the great ideal of the Guru: I seek not kingdom, I seek not salvation, I seek the love of His lotus feet."

  12. I always used to look up to the 3ho or the goreh sikhs.. how strong they are in their sikhi values compared to us punjabi sikhs who are born in the culture, country and religion. After reading the post and the blogspot .. it does feel like they need guidance also but again thats no reason for us to ridcule them. Sometimes, I think how Guruji wouldve acted in this scenario.. maybe we should all think about that before passing a judgement. About Baba Sri Chand.. theres nothing wrong with giving them respect.. aap Guru Sahib ne keha si .. ke gurua de kutteya nu vi lokki poojde ne te aa ta fer guru de laal ne. Baba Sri Chand was himself was a big sant... te ohna di respect ta app Guru Angad Dev ji toh leh ke Guru Hargobind sahib ji ne kitti si so theres nothing wrong with showing respect to them either.

  13. Singh ji is very good. Guru Mararaj has blessed him with the ability to take vichaar/ katha done in punjabi and break it down into things that the everyday person can relate to. it's good for those whose first language isn't punjabi. Keep up the good seva. Fateh to all!

  15. Why do people pick on 3ho so much? Do akj ask if nihangs are friends or enemies? Do taksalis ask if nanaksar Sikhs are friends or enemies? All jathas have different opinions on sooooo many subjects, but we just agree to disagree and carry on... But for some reason we have this issue with always bashing the 3ho...why pick and choose who we call enemies and who we call friends when everyone is following Sikhi differently then their fellow Sikh brothers and sisters? Live and let live

  16. Sant Maskeen Singh Ji said Gurudwara Jaana bardi ehsaan gall hai, changi gall hai, par Guru kohl pounchna koi hor gall hai. Meaning it's a good thing to go to Gurudwara, but reaching Waheguru and your Guru is a different thing. Just keep this in mind when you go.

  17. Agreed completely. We need interfaith building, but we shouldn't part-take in havan just to please someone, especially when in India we're not considered Sikhs. Great photograph!

  18. WGKKWGKF veerjio, Thank you Sikhsangat.com admin for pinning up the topic. I just need investors for the project, as this is a commercial project, I don't want to earn money from donations. You know its very hard to find investors here in INDIA. Everyone here is investing in the movies with a comedy and a love genre, I am not getting a single support from anyone. I had a talk with many good Sikhs in media with some Sikh actors and comedians (dont want to mention their name) they have all said a single word to me "NO". Also, I have seen some Film-makers who ask for donations from Sangat to make a movie on Sikhism. I don't think this is right, they infact ask for donations to make their own career. I will not ask for donations, but rather would love my Sikh brothers/businessmen to invest and take away their profit. I want all of us to grow and not a single person. Also I have a good offer for the Sikh investors from U.K I wish everyone understands my purpose of promoting Sikhi and growing together. :khalsa:

  20. I'd say they're friends of course, but we should discourage some of their practices of "inter-faith building" in rishikesh. Jab Lag Khalsa Rehegiya Niyaara, Tab Lag Tej Diyoo Mein Sara Jab Ehe Gahe Bipran Ki Reeth, Main Na Karoo In Ki Parteet They should condemn the actions and clarify them because I know only a select few people have done this havan pointless ritual stuff. THey say that they inside didn't follow it though.

  21. though I know this is no-doubt an attention grabbing post; I still feel the need to address this Are you actually serious about this? at first dog at my house would kill the mice around our house. I believe 2 were killed if I remember correctly. Recently, I found that she cornered 4 mice in a bucket and left them for us alive. I went out and set them free. Sikhism teaches to not take the lives of the innocent and to defend them. While a black widow spider could be a threat or something like a cobra; mice are no threat and there are several means to dispose of them without taking away the flame of life. Seriously, do 20 seconds of research and you can find several means to trap them and set them free in a distant field, forest, or any area. You doing what you're doing is treating life like garbage. All life is sacred bro.

  26. Maybe she has depression. Its hard to tell what the mental state of a person is, they look normal on top, but their disorder is invisible. Its not right what she is doing, she may not even know she is doing it.. A lady was once shouted at and humiliated infront of lots of customers on a busy day, in a punjabi grocery store, as she had been something quite often. Not sure what she was doing,, but guessing it was stealing...but she was so nicely dressed, a middle aged woman, from a respectable family, and kept saying sorry afterwards, as she didnt realise she did it, but the way she was humiliated in front of everyone, that was very hurtful. I feel somebody should be told with sincerity and pyar in order to help her. If she does have the problem, her family will appreciate it as they may not know she has a problem for which she could get further professional help. If she doesnt have a problem or disorder, then i would feel it as my duty to let her know she has been spotted on dvd, then it will make her think twice next time she does it.

  27. I have also learned something from this post, so thankuji to ScottishSingh for asking this question. Found some info on the net: It consists of the following in equal parts: Butter, Sugar, Flour The significance of it is: Sweetness - The sugar shows the sweetness of the Guru Butter - Shows the richness of the Guru Flour - Shows the intricate detail and in depth meaning of the Guru [small particles of flour, grains]. Everyone receives this in equal parts, this shows that everyone is equal in the eyes of Waheguru [GOD] and the Guru. understood and experienced as a blessing from the Guru and should not be refused. Those who prepare it bathe beforehand and recite hymns from the Guru Granth Sahib as they make it. When cooked, it is covered with a white cloth which is sprinkled with water as a symbol of cleanliness. It is then placed near the Guru Granth Sahib. During the Ardas at the end of worship it is stirred with a small kirpan(sword). It is then given to all who are present as a sign of their equality and unity. Offering kara parshad also makes sure that no one leaves the Guru's presence empty handed. The recipe was given by Guru Gobind Singh and the experience of receiving the Guru's Parshad is a reminder that all blessings come by Guru's kirpa (grace) and that everything we receive in life is sweet to us because it comes from the Guru. As a sign of humility and respect, visitors accept the Karah Parshad sitting, with hands raised and cupped. The offering and receiving of this food is a vital part of hospitality protocols. It has the same amount of semolina butter and sugar, which is to show the equalities of men and women. Ask the Sewadar to give you a very small amount of “Parshad”– Say “very small portion” (or "sa-vah-yah") to the Sewadar (volunteer) as the approaches you and before you put up your cupped hands, if u cannot manage to eat normal portion. Do not refuse it or throw it away as this is considered disrespectful to the Guru. I didn't know about the last bit, and have in the past refused parshad sometimes, how would that affect me?

  30. Great video speaking the truth. A man who sticks by his word and lives true as a Khalsa will live on until the end of time! Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale the equivalent of Baba Deep Singh Ji. Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale may not have been "educated" like many of us know education to be, but he was a very sharp and intelligent. He was also surrounded by intellectuals like Bhai Amrik Singh and countless others who knew what was brewing. Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale had known (if not exactly), but overall that most of the people were crooks and knew the path he was treading would eventually lead to shaheedi, but he also knew it would inspire generations to come for taking such a stand against justice that it shook India. The embodiment of Sant Sipahi and roop of a Khalsa - Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale.

  32. To answer your question, puran Brahmgiani Baba Harnam Singh Buchon Kala Wale have already taken janam in a certain country along with many other mahaan Gursikhs such as Bhai Uday Singh Jee, and are doing their kamaii. They will be part of the fauj lead by Sant Jarnail Singh and four other singhs. Sant Jee has a duty by Dasmey Patshaah to do fateh over the laal kila before giving shahaadat. After that Khalsa Raaj will be lead by panj kamaii wale singhs. Nindaks and cynics can doubt all they want but time will soon show what the truth is.

  33. operation suggests trouble, removing pain, trouble and pain the indian sarkar got rid of. they got rid of no problem, they tried to silence voices, crush hearts of a people who were begining to shake off slavery that was put around their necks. we shouldn't refer to this holocaust as operation blue star, rather give it a name like vadda ghulooghara or saka nanakana sahib. also the November 1984 massacres and operation woodrose should be refered to as ethnic cleansing and a holocaust against sikhs too. the delhi ethnic cleansing wasnt a riot, we should stop calling it a riot.

  35. Veer Ji you right in what you say but how come you never comment in support of 3ho whenever they are attacked by other users. Not all of them are bad..?? Kirtan should be done ONLY in raag because otherwise it is paap. Similar to correct pronunciation of santhia and without this knowledge you are hurting your guru ji by doing inappropriate pronunciation however in this case inappropriate non raag of kirtan. Do we want to be bemukh in front of our Guru? So in the mean time if one does not have gian of raag or santhia it is best to listen to audios where the correct version is done. Daas Consiousness

  38. OP, the real question is that if you force yourself not to go then would your mind/thoughts still be at the dance? In the end, the decision to go or not must from with in you You are still young and will go through many experiences in life, both good and bad. The key is to always remember that each and every experience put in front of you is trying to teach you something thereby making you a better human being. A story I read a few years ago will hopefully clarify what I am trying to say. Two monks were walking toward their ashram one day. They came across a beautiful woman who had gotten injured and thus was unable to walk to her destination. Upon inquiring with her, they found out that her destination was right on the path they had to take to get to their ashram. So one gladly hoisted her up on his back and off they went. She was dropped off at her destination and both monks kept moving forward toward their ashram. Once they reached the ashram the other monk asked the first one, "Why did you pick up that beautiful woman and took her with us. You know we are not suppose to do that." The first monk replied, "Brother, yes I did pick her up but I also dropped her off at her destination but you are still carrying her with you."

  39. ^^^ utter rubbish, bhai sahib yogi bhajan had the utmost respect for sant ji, he agreed with sant ji's ideals and objective but knew how sant ji would be betrayed and possibly not be very successful in terms of quick achievment of Khalsa Raj, and therefore didnt want sant ji to obtain shaheedi. This is all EXTREMELY clear from the mouth of yogi bhajan himself in this video. takes awhile to get into it. around 9:30. (an excellent video as well! really displays how we are our own worst enemy, no one else!)Sikh "leadership" is a joke!
