Basically, this is my beleif personally that as the Sikh Nation has 99% discarded "Raag Vidya" the beauty, the flow, the imagery and the sheer genius of Sri Raagmala, is vanishing. Learn about Raag Vidya and then see the antriv arth of what Sri Raagmala is doing. A big mistake is to look at Sri Raagmala as an index of Raags/Raags used in Aad Guru. Once a person begins to experience the magic of Raags then he can be able to access the sublime energy behind Sri Raagmala. Thats my opinion anyway. The loss of Raag Vidya has caused so many problems for the Sikh Panth.

It's bit of reverse psychology we may want to try it as we have already tried other venues, at this point- worst thing we can do against missionary dhunda/anti dasam is protest in the gurdwaras against him as it gives dhunda enough ammu to use for his advantage- play victim and exploit the whole situation and ultimately gain credibility in ignorant masses. I think this poster above with list of gurdwaras speaks for itself- just look at it- the way so many gurdwaras are promoting him speaks volume- he is living legend to them.. And that goes out to all situations when any cult leader is attacked, they gain 100 times more credibility in masses, its a fact- as any cult leader or its followers- use that character assassination attack to play victim, gain sympathy and credibility ..they are able to change wind course (change public opinion) to their advantage. Our best best- ignore this fool- avoid any interaction with him, use all our energy keep lobying sri akaal takth sahib jathedar, among other takth jathedars and sgpc against him and try to invoke statement from sri akaal takth jathedar and other takth jathedars against him and keep encouraging sgpc/sri akaal takth jathedars to own a sikh media to become one sikh voice for all- owning media changes everything slowly and surely will change public opinion....!!!!!!!!

I think the entire obsession about sex stems from the culture in which it is promoted. Go into a newsagents or supermarket and you'll see naked women covering their bits either with their hands or by another naked woman on the cover of men's magazines. Look at billboard posters, TV, films - it's all there. Music - songs about sleeping around but just as bad are music videos which depict women as s-l-u-t-s and female "artists" who have dance routines involving sexualised behaviour. Consequently you have cases of kids under the age of 13 involved in sex with other kids. Speaking to women, even Sikh women, there are those who are genuine, who don't want a horrible git to control/abuse them. My concern is that the majority will have been influenced in some way by the media. Good luck in finding your soulmate.

as far as i know, Sri Sarbloh vidya is not given in Taksal, only the more well known shabds are used from it.

After the large scale Gurmat Samagam held in the Malwa region of Punjab, this was said during a Samagam organised by the Jatha for Bhai Rajoana in the Doaba region, further to the same requests made by Sant Dhadrianwale (as well as other Panthic Jathebandhia) prior to and during the 23rd March 2012 Akal Takht meeting. This was the demand of the people. Sant Dhadrianwale once again spoke at length about the Jeevan of Bhai Rajoana and told the Doaba Sangat of the happenings during the Akal Takht meeting held earlier in the day. The decision to give Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh the title of “Quami Shaheed” by the Akal Takht was most welcomed by the Sangat, as was the title given to Bhai Balwant Singh of “Jinda Shaheed”. However, in the absence of such evidence we have to think, “Why is this only happening to Sikhs?” They said it would a beautiful day when a lion of the nation like Bhai Rajoana would be released from jail and sitting among us and Sangat could do ‘darshan’ of such a warrior who would be sitting on stages. Further support for Bhai Rajoana was shown by the Sangat during the Diwaan and there were ‘Jakaareh’ against his hanging. The article in The Hindu draws attention to the phenomenal work RajoanaTV has done over the last year on a plethora of Human Rights issues in Panjab. The third largest national newspaper in India, 'The Hindu' talks about RajoanaTV and how a new breed of soldiers are taking the reigns of the fight for truth, justice and independence. The waving of Kirpans in thin air and shouting 'down down India gorment' by our so called leaders is unfortunately for india dying a death. India's war has changed, the guns have fallen silent but their massacre of Sikhi and Panjab continues in a faceless silent way. We have the blood of Guru Gobind Singh Ji running through our veins, we have changed our strategy also to suit this war. Like the article suggests, they don't know how to deal with this. So called moderate Sikhs, educated and professionals posing legitimate questions, delivering info in a passionate orderly manner is frightening them. We need to get youth who are cool minded to form peaceful jathas and approach the Gurdwaras. Once the discussion starts in Punjabi all the uncles jump in and do their usual bull. If we can talk in English very cooly and logically portraying ourselves as being educated and level minded we can have the best chance to convince the sangat against these heretics. We should have information with exactly what the facts are surrounding the blasphemous remarks and an iPad or computer there with speakers to show people easily what they say.

Dearest _Regret_ Jee, First of all, big vedaiya(congratulations) to you that at 29, you are finally going to India in July and getting married. I pray to Gurujee that may this all be in His Will for you and happen very happily and the coming year bring you blessings from the house of Guru Nanak. Secondly, I congratulate you that through God's grace you stayed the way you are with great willpower and as we say in punjabee, 'anakh'. Be thankful that this gift of marriage is now coming your way through God's grace and God blessed you to be strong in your will power all these years. Anybody who rejected you in the past was not meant to be your jeewan sathan(partner in the life), hence do not feel cheated or sad. At the end of the day we only get what is meant to be for us, and always think of those who have so much less than you. When something is not meant for you it just never clicks. But when something is meant to be yours it comes in ways you never imagined. Everything has a time and place. There are things I desired when I was in my 20s which have come my way in my 40s and 50s hehe. I always wanted to learn swimming but so many obstacles blocked me. However after 30 years I finally learnt swimming this year, and am still learning. It has been my lifelong dream to be able to ride a horse like puratan Singhs and now that is my plan for 2013, so it is never too late to receive any blessings from God. At 29 you are still a fresh naujawan at the peak and prime of your life where strength and stamina merge and shine together very brightly! So this is indeed a great age to be married because you are mature and experienced and will know how to look after your wife. You probably need to think ahead as to how you will help your wife to familiarise and settle within Canadian society which is different to India. Things like language, the white canadian mindset which she will have to interact with, and conversion courses relating to her previous education/employment. You must be very excited because there is so much to do hehe. As to your comments relating to Sikh/non Sikh girls, let the past be the past. Do not judge anyone and if guys/girls choose to be foolish in their choice than that is their problem. In this age, people hardly like to listen to advice so just focus on your future now and do not bother with others choices. There are wise people like you, but there are many foolish people too, who suffer as you said for choosing partners who treat them horribly. As Gurbanee says a gem is best valued by a gem dealer, so it is to the misfortune of those you knew that they could not suss out your purity and love you for it. So, put away your heavy heart, and pray to God that the lady you are marrying is blessed by God to be God's choice of a life partner to you. Gurbani says ''ek jot, doe murtee, dhan pir khiyeh soe'' i.e husband and wife are said to be those who have two different physical bodies but share one light, one love, one spirit, because their souls blend into one another. So walk into your future casting away all dross and heaviness from the past. Focus on being a true, strong, powerful inspired Sikh and encourage your wife too, so you are not name sake Sikhs whose minds are polluted with bad culture and whose hearts have no love for God and Guru. Let this change be not only be in terms of getting married, but becoming strong in your religion. If you and your wife hold hands and walk on the path of Sikhi, you will be walking into Light, where no darkness will destroy your marriage but instead your life and marriage will be blessed.

My opinion would be to focus to expand more online and spend less time doing in-person prachar. This way it will save your energy and time. Sangat reach via online is more on broader level and prachar videos stays evergreen while gurdwaras prachar is limited to one time effect only.

Congrats ! Well done on keeping on with good diet. On my side, it is all up and down. I lost 8 pounds when i spent most of the scorching summer in punjab and now i am 10 pounds heavier. I went to see Nutritionist few days ago and got some tips and will be seeing her again after recording my regular three'ish day food intake. I'm going to start taking 30 day cleansing/detox off counter pills while putting a complete self-stop on sugar.

I'll tell you some good 'superfoods' for your detox : Alsi (flaxseed) and Tulsi (holy basil) All too often we dismiss the recommendations of our elders as being ill-informed or without scientific merit but....they know what they're talking about when it comes to superfoods. Our grandparents have been telling us alsi seeds have hyper qualities for years. But we only started listening when Californian movie stars started saying the same thing and made alsi an official superfood. Same with holy basil. I remember when my wife first came over from Punjab. She was feeling quite unwell and asked me to get some tulsi (holy basil). I tried and I tried but I just couldn't get any anywhere. The Chinese and Thai shops had it in paste form but I needed the actual plant leaves. In the end she told me to go down the local Hindu temple. She said every Hindu temple in the world will have some tulsi. I thought it was a bit strange but off to the Hindu temple I went. Lo and behold, they had the holy basil in abundance. The geezer there informed me that all Hindu temples have a holy basil plant because it is considered a herb of the gods as it has so many super healing qualities. Anyway.....you'll be surprised how many times the tulsi plant has soothed various ailments in our household. Same with the alsi (flaxseed). In the old days, when the average height of a Sikh was well over 6'2" and they were built like brick s***houses, the alsi seed was a major part of the Sikh's diet, as it mad their bodies strong and healthy. In modern days, the farmers just give it to the cows to fatten them up. Our strength and health has deteriorated accordingly. But in our household we try and put alsi in alot of things. It has so many super qualities it cures so many ailments. Actually I seem to remember an interview I read with the marathon runner Fauja Singh. In the interview he says the secret for his longevity and good health is the alsi walian pinnia that he eats religiously every day. Seriously i've got so much respect for the knowledge of the old timers from Punjab. They know so much more than we think we do. Take my car for example. For months and months I was driving around with a seriously overheating radiator. Leaking like hell. RAC man couldn't get to the bottom of it. Garage wanted to charge me a small fortune. Then an ol uncle visiting our house just happened to overhear my problem. He told me to put some haldi (turmeric) in it and the problem would be solved. Bish bosh bish...haldi in and problem solved. Happy days. Moral of the story ? wanna get your body detoxed so all the rubbish comes out and the goodness stays in ? Talk to an old timer from Punjab and get their advice. Health conscience Hollywood stars are doing it. Cut out the middle man (Hollywood) and go straight to the horses mouth. Oh....start growing some wheatgrass and drink 2 glassed of the juice you squeeze out of it per day. It will help in getting rid of the 2kg's of filth we've got stuck on the inside lining of our intestine. Either that or get a colonic irragation. But if you do go for the colonic...be warned...buy some adult nappies to wear on the way home. Friend of mine had it done and he made an awful mess on the car seat of the fella driving him home after.

If 5 singhs can give order to badal and shiromani committee to talk with Indian Govt in order to save Bhai Sahib's life then why cannot five jathedars choose a new jathedar their own as they are the supreme power. How can badal even dare to disobey this order.
