  1. It is very sad that your parents are blackmailing you and forcing you to get married. I would say Be Honest to the girl you are going to get married. Tell her what you feel. It is not her fault. If she is going to be your life partner, then she should know what kind of relationship she is getting into.

  2. WJKK WJKF, Jat, jat, jat! That's all we ever hear. This is a political and economical/social topic not concerning sikhi or the parchar of sikhi. Simply the ever growing supremacy issue for the jatt. Nothing to do with our dharam. How the hypocrite has been bitten back by hypocrisy. Leave your caste aside, then become khalsa, one united people of no caste. What would India do then?

  3. This is the upside down topsy turvy world which is India. Getting 'backward class' status is like winning the lottery. Get it, and your son and daughter is guaranteed a job. Get it, and your son and daughter is guaranteed a university place. Get it, and your son and daughter only needs to attain a lower grade in order to get a pass in exams. Without it, the status quo was that unemployment among jatts, including their graduates, was close to 90%. The urban classes who own the private businesses in Punjab don't give jobs to the jatts because they only give jobs among their own groups and the government civil service jobs were reserved for the backward classes. That, and that only, is why many jatts were agitating to get the 'status'. When you live in a corrupt, backward system, the only way to function is in corrupt backward ways.

  4. WJKK WJKF Dear sikha, When I do my Paath I generally wash my face and hands before I start. I also get tongue tied when doing the Paath but I resay what I said and then move on and I find it helps you to memorise the mistake and correct it the next time. I'm not an expert and I don't know much lol, but I feel that if you have the opportunity to wash your body before you start Paath, it's fine. If not, it's also fine. I once heard in katha that when one has dirty hands they wash them in water, when ones clothes become dirty they are also able to be cleaned but when ones soul is dirty and blemished, water cannot clean and remove the blemish. The cleanser is naam, wahegurus gurbani via the 10 Shri guru sahibs and the Shiri Guru Granth Sahib ji. So when you do your Paath, think that you are cleansing your whole body, your mind and your soul. Keep strong and use sikhi to weaken your OCD tendancy, treat it as a category within the 5 vices which we must try and beat.

  5. I would rather listen interpretation of - Bed Katebh Kaho Mat Chuteh, Chuta Jo Na Beechare by sant gyani gurbachan singh khalsa bhindranwale as it flows with overall position of vedas held by gurbani than listening to reformist black and white abhramic interpretations..anyway we already been through this before...sikhi isn't some cheap insecure faith nor its like jevoh witness Christian missionary faith..!! I put neo tat khalsa ideology same as rss, neo nazi, sharia fascist ideology...only difference is they aren't in power...once they are in power, its the same old bigotry crap with different face lift..!!

  6. If your comment is directed to me then: The same argument can be applied to you as well. Maybe your buddhi is defected for considering the wrong meanings. Interpretation I provided is not only according to grammar but also in consonance with the rest of Gurbani. These meanings are not new nor invented by Singh Sabha. The translation is wrong because it throws the whole context of the pauri out of the flow. I did not blame Gurbani. I blame translation to be wrong.

  7. Agreed does living in a corrupt system mean that you should accept it and become corrupt yourself ?? No this is not what Sikhi is about. Sikhi has always been about defiance against corruption and I justice. Ranjit Mani was right " chitay chadray , jameenah ghanay, putt sardara de" ..generations of laziness and getting drink instead of working hard has lead to the current situation. The system is corrupt as well but its not entirely too blame.

  11. Faith Moves Mountains! Mera Russey naa Kalgiyaan wala, Jag Bhaven Saraa Russ jaye! Sapinder Singh We all have heard that faith moves mountains and here is a living example of that in Sapinder Singh, an ex-student of Akal Academy, Baru Sahib. Sapinder Singh, an embodiment of confidence, integrity and ethical values is a beacon-light for all of us proving beyond any doubt that faith is ones sheet anchor in life. His inspiring story Sapinder Singh, a weightlifter was to compete in in 69-77 Kg category. He weighed 76.9 Kg in 69-77 Kg category. However, he insisted to keep on his Gatra & Kirpan, a symbol of the Sikh Faith, weighing 200 gms. This brought his weight to 77.1 Kg, technically outside the limit of 69-77 Kg category. He was advised the option of removing his Kirpan so as to fit into the lower category of 69-77 Kg, wherein the chances of his success were certain. But Sapinder had other thoughts. His core ethical values made him believe beyond doubt that Kirpan was an essential and inseparable part of his body and that he genuinely weighed at 77.1 Kg alongwith his Kirpan, which was his body Ang . Sapinder Singhs choice certainly placed him in higher category of 77-84 Kg, where the competition was tough and seemingly insurmountable. His faith remained firm and unshaken and he preferred to move to a higher category risking his chances of winning a medal. However, the providence had a pleasant surprise in store for him when Sapinder won the Gold medal and established a state record, which is yet to be broken. Sapinder made a responsible choice by not removing his Kirpan, and preserving his identity as a baptized Sikh. By doing so, Sapinder Singh set an example for millions of Sikh youth and proved in his unique manner that honoring ones faith is a matter of fortitude, something uncommon and mortals, inspiring us all the way as we feel proud of him. Dhan Sikhi! Dhan Khalsa! http://barusahib.org/wp/?p=2311

  12. Its not a question about me being protective about Sant Ji, he was a Hawk in comparison to this dung beetle (me) and was a Shiromani Gursikh. Fabricating BS about anyone is called Ninda, and to target Sant Ji was below the belt and he seemed proud of it. If anyone has any doubts about which Khushwant Singh is being referred to please refer to the following link, it gives you an insight into his character. http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/i-was-the-only-indian-to-criticise-bhindranwale-khushwant-singh/1/255997.html

  13. Fair point perhaps... However, it also needs to be said that for a Sikh, when you live in a corrupt, backward system, the only way to function is to topple the backward ways, either with quiet dignity, or loudly, but never become corrupt. There are indeed Sikhs who carry on, in India and around the world, living quietly with spectacular dignity, yet surrounded by humans who ape the dysfunctional society around them.

  14. WJKK WJKF Also, what jatt are we talking about, the"jatt" farmer, the "jatt" caste or the "jatt" creed. I should at this point add in "jatt" sikh, but this does not exist in sikhi. Topics like these bring out the supporters of caste, as they still see pride in thier caste amrit dhari or non amrit dhari. Then in other posts they will try and give opinions based on gurmat. If only they stuck to their guns on this one too!

  16. There should be no quota system. This old age division system is toxic for humanity. I have seen border line failing student getting admission while high score were getting denied because first preference is for quota ppl.
