WKKF. I was recently told of an account where Guru Gobind SIngh apparently boiled alive some Mahants, killing them in this manner. I am aware that Guru Ji banned Mahants etc, however find it hard to believe that Guru Ji would torture to death anyone in such a cruel and barbaric manner. Having researched it slightly I have found no solid proof that this ever occurred, and in fact it clearly conflicts with Gurbani which speaks of the complete, merciful Guru etc. Does anyone have any genuine evidence (verified factual account or bani) that confirms if Guru Ji did infact do this act? If not as with everything the testing stone for me anyway will be Gurbani itself. WKWF

This is the issue in the Panth now. People cannot understand the Shabad Guru is the Guru and always has been. In the video the Shabad Guru is present and giving the teachings loud and clear. The instructor at the yoga event does not understand what Shabad Guru is saying. As a result the people are instructed by fools (3HO yoga instructors) to dance to Shabad Guru and in the video you see a white man grinding with a woman. This is a insulting way to use the Shabad Guru. Here is a trasnlation of what Shabad Guru is saying to do: O Power of Akaal, give me this boon May I never ever shirk from doing good deeds That I shall not fear when I go into combat. And with determination I will be victorious. That I may teach myself this greed alone, to speak only of Thy (allmighty lord Waheguru) praises. And when the last days of my life come, I may die in the might of the battlefield.||231|| There is a similar shabad in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji by Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji in Sri Raag. This a outright mockery of the Shabad Guru. The Shabad Guru is to be heard, understood, meditated on, and practiced. This is the instructions given to us by our Gurus. Not to make a mockery of the Shabad Guru and let people jump around like lowly creatures and grind against women or men. If Mehtab Singh and Sukha Singh were here today they would not hesitate to take out their Sri Sahib's one more time to show the yoga instructors how the dance of Deh Shiva Bar Mohe eha is done by Sikhs.

Im glad to see that Sikhs in Pakistan are getting more active in Sikh affairs in that country. For too long they have been docile, and neglecting the state of crucial aspects in that country. Make it a point to support Sikhs in Pakistan via social networking sites.

As someone says, the Masands began committing many crimes like stealing money and raping women. Beating and killing anyone who tried to prevent their sisters daughters from being raped. When Guru Jee heard this He ordered that all Masands be brought at Anandpur Sahib by grabbing them from their beard. Not all Masands were killed. Only those who committed these crimes were killed. There was a saakhi of one Masand who was a saintly Gursikh. I forgot his name. But it is said when Guru Jee ordered that the Masands be brought to Anandpur Sahib, but no one dared to touch the beard of this Gursikh Masand since everyone knew he was sinless. When this Gursikh Masand found out, he himself grabbed his own beard and presented himself in front of Guru Gobind Singh Jee because he wanted to keep the maan of Guru Gobind Singh Jee's bachans. Guru Jee seeing him with is beard in his hand said: This hukam was not for Gursikhs like you, but for sinful Masands".

The reason we wear make up and cut our hair is we want to look pretty for someone but what good is looking pretty? The problem is we don't understand that sikhi is a path of falling involve with akaal purakh. When people have boyfriends, they want to bring them up all the time. My boy "bababbapaljeet singh" is so blabla" because people 24/7 they are on our mind. For a gursikh that boyfriend is Waheguru. You wanna say Waheguru all the time because their you're so in love. Thats what simran is. People call their bf at night and say goodnight, i love you boo blabla. Gursikhs do the same; they do their kirtan sohela. Waheguru is your husband, you want to look beautiful for him. So who cares about what people think is pretty. Focus on making waheguru the most important thing in your life. Sri Guru Ji, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj were at Anandpur Sahib. Singhs were building a Kila in preperation for war. Maharaj Ji walked past and some concrete spilt on Sri Guru ji's Chola by one particular Singh. Maharaj said slap him. All the Singhs that were with Maharaj slapped that one Singh for his mistake. Sri Guru said i ordered only one Singh to slap him not all of you. Singh's replied Guru Ji we obey your hukam. Sri Guru replied this Singh is very poor, and he worries that his daughter needs to be married away, as soon a possible. Is there any Singh that will take his daughters hand. None of the Singh's had the courage to say obey Guru Ji's order

firstly before you start you could trying doing an Ardas to Waheguru ji and ask for support as this will give you confidence that maharaj is with you and you can do it ! Also have a think about this shabad "Man Beche Satgur Ke Paas" :lol2: sell your mind which is full of queries and worries, to the true guru so every time you think about something just tell yourself "my minds not mine, I've sold it to the True Guru and its his worry now. He has paid me for my mind with peace" also when these thoughts come into your mind and your doing simran such as waheguru jaap, call out waheguru jis name like you'd call out "muuuummmmmm!!!!" call for help and support and im sure he'll come to the rescue. Don't ever let yourself stop doing sew or simran because their very important elements in a Gursikhs life, it may take a lot of forcing yourself to get ebck into teh routine and as you said that it agev you peace so you are aware of the rewards. (ii) Fast one day (24 hours) a week while you are on weight loss (dont need to do this after you have reached your target weight but no harm in continuing) (iiii) Cold water showers - they boost brown cells in the body which in turn speed up metabolism . (iv) Snacking on vegetables when hungry - snack on carrots / broccoli when you feel like eating in between meals. (v) Having a large legume dinner - for dinner instead of having roti/rice (vi) Eating whole foods and grains only so no more white rice or white flour. (vii) Have lots and lots of green tea - upto 6-7 cups a day (viii) Fasted workout - first thing after getting up should be a 10-15 minute cardio so you end up burning stored fat since your lever is depleted of glycogen at this time , during the day you will have to first exhaust the glycogen before your body turns to fat for energy.

Fateh . . . I was given some Birdh (old) Gutkas, and some religious scriptures which are now in a very old state and are unable to be used. I normally will do Japji Sahib, Ardas and Agan Bhet a calendar, or card with Gurbani on it and then Jal Parvah; however for a Gutka Sahib, I could not bring myself to do this. So I recalled Sikh Missionary Society (southall) doing this; however after approaching (or being given the run around) them and local Gurudwara Sahibs, I am unable to find anywhere in Southall or sourrounding areas where I can take the Gutka Sahibs to be Agan Phet (or Sasakar). 1. Can the forum members advise if/where I can do this. Are there any Gurbani Satkar Society Members around who can point me in the right direction? 2. As a community, we have a lot of stress on Respect Gurbani; however the basis facilities (such as Saskar) are not available. This matter needs to be looked at further. Any help is appreciated.
