They’ll be on the road the for about a week and a half before they dip their tires into the Atlantic Ocean, near the Confederation Bridge, and turn around. The Legendary Sikh Riders will be asking people to make donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation as they roll across the nation. Each donation will support children from the province where the donation was made. “We wanted to something for the children,” the road captain said. “Some chidren are not granted the quality of life that we have, so we would at least like to leave something for the kids.” Singh Hoonjan was sporting a light-brown vest that was hand-stitched by an Indigenous woman. He pointed to two circles, one forming the Indigenous Medicine Wheel and another in the Sikh Khanda, within patches on the vest and said “we are all one, nature is all one, it doesn’t matter what colour you are, who you are, we’re all one.” The motorcyclists have done rides to show support for the Indigenous community after the discovery of unmarked graves at former residential school sites. The Legendary Sikh Riders are also be riding in memory of the children who attended the institutions. “We wanted to carry a piece of them with us,” Singh Hoonjan said.

  2. Think about how many beautiful puratan gurdwaras we have lost. These "kar sevaks" really have a weird obsession with white marble.

  3. I have to say, this is the most sickening thread I've read in a while. It's been making me feel all kinds of ways since I saw it. I don't know what to say.....Amritdharis need to start acting like men for a change. If you're not going to kick off about this, there is nothing you won't meekly tolerate whilst lecturing everyone else. This is just so disgusting. Seeing those diggers scooping up the structure. Here (in the UK), most people save old bricks (you know the yellow stock ones) and they sell for more than new ones. Here, these bastards look like they are going to use the old structure as hardcore (i.e. coarse material underneath a foundation) for some other construction project. Just disgusting. Low IQ peasant mentality. Seeing stuff like this makes you not want to visit forums. Watching a bunch of peasants destroy you material heritage under your own eyes is nothing short of traumatic. Say what you will about the guy, Niddar at least flagged the same crap going on at Hazoor Sahib. F**k pendu mentality.

  5. they don't have the fixation it is the SGPC did you see what they were trying to do at thanda burj? Simply SGPC has put Harmandir Sahib on mortgage to make that atrocious 'heritage' walk/street what the hell does bhangra and gidda to do with the history of Amritsar , founded by Guru Amar Das ji and developed by Guru Ram Das ji, Guru Arjun Dev ji and fortfied by Guru Har Gobind ji. SGPC is the instrument through which the brahminwadi are doing damage to sikh itihaas and scripture and schlorly works . Remember that the kidnapped Saroops, Pothian and gutkey were taken from Gurdwarey using SGPC letterheaded papers. RSS are standing in the elections within SGPC directly . We need to destroy the 1925 Gurdwara Act which allows the GOI to interfere in Sikh gurdwara maintenance . Also we as a kaum need to partner up with international conservation groups to get our own team of experts and archeaologists together , because this is a matter of world history not 'jis ka soti uss ki bains'

  7. The incompetence is beyond belief. I've seen this happen in pinds with lesser known historical gurdwaras where beautiful older structures surrounded by hundreds of years old trees have been cleared for marble monstrosities. Even historical trees associated with Guru Sahibaan are not spared. Nothing is going to change. People have been lamenting for decades but come time for SGPC elections, the same group affiliated members gets voted back in.

  8. Panth really needs to come together and sort this issue out. What have these guys ever done? We can't have our gurdwaras under the control of this farangi system

  9. It may also be that they're getting kick backs off the contractors. So if the job doesn't happen they don't get their bribery money. But also, the idea that they are THIS indifferent to preserving heritage from early Sikh provenance is scary. If they don't even care about that - what do they care about? How false is their roop. And people sl@g off monay, but look at how rotten these lot are.
