Ghosts are mentioned in gurbani many times. Here is a shabad by Bhagat Tarlochan Ji.

At the very last moment, one who thinks of wealth, and dies in such thought,

shall be reincarnated over and over again, in the form of serpents. ||1||

O sister, do not forget the Name of the Lord of the Universe. ||Pause||

At the very last moment, he who thinks of women, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a prostitute. ||2||

At the very last moment, one who thinks of his children, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a pig. ||3||

At the very last moment, one who thinks of mansions, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a ghost. ||4||

At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such thoughts,

says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart. ||5||2||

Ghatak Jeeo,

I believe that the Pir Suleman is speaking Farsi in that tape...perhaps this is what you found to sound like Hindi.

From my limited knowledge on the subject, Pir Suleman was actually a Muslim saint who for whatever reason dealt in "jadoo"(black magic). For this he was punished to live his life as a ghost. According to the tape, Pir Suleman possessed this young boy because in a previous life he had urinated on Pir Suleman's grave. Pir Suleman then goes on to give a description of life as a ghost and such. Some people doubt the authenticity of this recording though.
