Former director general of Punjab police Kanwar Pal Singh Gill, Minister of State for Non-Resident Indians Jagdish Tytler and Maninderjit Singh Bitta, chairman of the Anti-Terrorist Front, were on the hit-list of Jagtar Singh Hawara, chief of the Babbar Khalsa International who was arrested in New Delhi last week for allegedly masterminding the May 22 blasts at two Delhi theatres. Delhi Police Commissioner Dr K K Paul disclosed this in an exclusive conversation with rediff.com on Wednesday.

Hawara had escaped from Burail jail in Chandigarh along with three accomplices on January 21, 2004.

"We were not looking for him initially but once the Babbar Khalsa appeared in the investigation after the Delhi blasts we started looking for him. During his interrogation he named K P S Gill, Jagdish Tytler and Maninderjit Singh Bitta, besides some personalities from Punjab," Dr Paul said.

When asked to confirm if Hawara was planning to bring in a 'human bomb' from the United States to execute his diabolical plans, as some national dailies had reported, Dr Paul said the reports were partly true and partly imaginative. "We are in no position to confirm or deny them," he said.

Hawara's interrogation has alerted the Union home ministry and Punjab police who had claimed that the terrorist and his associates had crossed over to Pakistan. Instead, they discovered Hawara returned to his hometown Patiala after the jailbreak last year and was trying to reorganise the terror network. The role of some state police officers and politicians has also come under scrutiny.

Hawara had planned the murder of then Punjab chief minister Beant Singh in August 1995. The Central Bureau of Investigation had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakhs leading to the arrest of Hawara and his accomplices.

"partly true and partly imaginative" - now that is imaginative reporting. Especially when followed by the next line: "We are in no position to confirm or deny them,".

KPS Gill and wots his face Tyler's days are numbered. Indian govt or the World won't give Sikhs justice. Then Sikhz are gonna have to take it in their own hands.

Usually I dont approve of the activies of Babbar Khalsa or any other militant group but any act that takes out these evil scumbags (KPS Gill and Tytler) I will support.

Well I dont believe in violence will achieve Khalistan. If Khalistan is gonna be a reality then it will only come when hearts and minds are won. At moment the Indian govt has sucessful won the media battle by painting Sikh seperatists as terrorists not only in India but around the world. When the truth is on the contray and it is the Indian govt and it's armed forces who are the terrorists.

To win Khalistan the people must be won over. Indian's terrorist agencies will continue to do their best to make Khalistani's and Sikhs in general look bad but if people of India know that our intentions are good and just then why shouldnt they support the cause or at least understand it better.

I never thought i'd be the one to say this but here goes: lets all calm down

Khalistan has to be won in the hearts and minds as well all over again since the '80s because of all the total bukwaas the GOI propoganda machine was spewing out in overdrive. The normal everyday hindu in India now as a result actually believes the nonsense that the Fascist hindu groups like RSS have been barking on about- things like Sikhs are circumcised, kill cows regularly, want to convert mandirs to Gurughars, basically all the jihadi propoganda with a sikh twist.

That is very true. We have to run an "image cleanup" campaign.

However, if Babbar Khalsa is gonna take out KP Gill and Tytler, they have my support.

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
