Goreh Names

I must admit I don't like the idea of giving my kids goreh names. Our Sikh naes have a real meaning pertaining to the history of the Sikhs.

For example - my own name Randip is Ran = Battle Dip = Flame, or the flame of battle, which is honouring our ancestors.

People have a problem with keeping our names, because goreh mispronounce them, but there are many beautiful Sikh names you can keep which sound ok in English and also honour your ancestors, eg Simran, Daya, Maya, Jodh, Jeevan, Deeraj etc.

Me, I like keeping Sikh names, but I am concious of their English pronounciation too. :TH:
