Hey bhenji.. Well if i was in ur case, i would jus one day, sit down with him talk about everyday things/ideas. And then bring up the topic of sikhi. And i agree 100% with raju bhenji/veerji.

"Usually the people who rebel the most when they are young turn into the most hardcore religious later. "- Raju.

That statement is very true. And yes, maybe is u take amrit, and show him / explain to him wat amrit and sikhi is, he will be inspired. I hope i helped.

Guest i know how u feel.

penji, i Know exactly how u feel. My brother does the same. Doesnt wear a kara, cuts his hair, goes to parties, doesnt come to gurdwara. I have done the same. I have told him i wanted to take amrit, after i finish Uni. And he laughed and said " yeah rite! u keep a rehit? thats not possible" I was furiuos with him for days. I know how u feel. I wish i could bring my brother and family into sikhi, n go on the right path... towards Guruji. If u need any help jus PM me. Take care

i know many people in that situation..

my suggestion... talk to him about sikhi.. make sure he knows what its about... but like one of the earlier posts said... u can't do much about it... it's his life... maybe its not written for him to find guru jee this life... who knows... we can't force anybody to become a sikh... allz u can really do is show him love and try to teach him as much bani as possible... the rest is up to him... maybe one day he'll find guru jee.... guru jee has already found him...

if it were me, dont even talk to him about sikhi, that would basically be preaching. Preaching is bad, unless they ask.

A great king was on his deathbed and his last words were as follows:

"I tried to chnage the city thinking that f I changed the city the state would change. I tried to make the stae better thinking that the country would fix itself up. I tried to change the country thinking it may change the world. But I have failed. On my deathbed i have finally realized something. If I had changed myself, maybe my family would have changed. If my family had changed, maybe our community would have changed. If our community changed then maybe our city would have changed. If our city had changed then maybe my state would have changed and so forth. I should have changed myself rather than trying to change the world."

Personal experience: One of my highschool classmates took amrit recently, her cousin is one of my best friends. inspired by her he started keeping Kesh. Inspired by him I started keeping kesh 7 months ago. Now my Chaacha has started keeping kesh again after he cut his hair back in 1989. This is real life inspirational proof that oce you change yourself, others with Waaheguru's glance of grace will follow.

fateh!
