If a jatt girl marries a chumar boy, she is going to have problem because the chumars do things differently. She have to learn all the new things. See? U got to understand the Sant Siphai (Saint Soldier) + Miri/Piri aspect of Sikhi. Guru Ji states all Khalseh should never be unarmed due to circumstances. Shastar + Bir Ras/Atheyaar (weapons) + Shastar Vidiya (knowledge of weapons) is a must for every Khalsa this together with Guru Ji's Baani and gian karak = Ultimate Warrior. Guru Ji wasnt stupid the Singhs invented Guerrilla warfare and were the masters of it. Of course utlimately a gun would win against kirpan, but all depends on the person and circumstances..how about if ur gun runs out> see technology has its downsides aswell. Guru Ji when talking about shastar doesnt only mean kirpans, shastar means weapons so if the enemy is using more advanced weaponary of course the Singhs will do the same, for example in 1984 the Singhs used Guns/Rifles against the indian government how do you explain a 100+ Singhs armed with AK's etc + limited ammunition. Taking on one of the worlds largest armys and holding them up for a number of days? Even when the indian gov had all highly trained troops in the world and masses of weaponary along with ammunition, u would expect them to be one step ahead (or a few) .

Your dad really needs to look into the Siphai (Soldier) aspect of Sikhi.

People Against the Guru started writing their own bani So Guru Ji had to compose a Granth to authorise His won Bani form the rest. Remember, He had enemies like His eldest Brother, who couldn' get GurGaddhi.

Sorry but become a christian then if you like their way of life so much! Christianity is NOT sikhi. There is a big difference between the two. Jesus is NOT present at the church, but a book of his stories are(Bible). In Gurdwaras, Guru ji Himself is present. Thereofer we need the respect. Because during the 5th Guru there were still peaceful times. From the 6th Guru onwards we became sant sipahis and so we got caught up in battles against oppressors. Thats my personal belief and I could be wrong.
