Dear Gursikhs,

I know you'll hate me for this but I am just showing you the True Picture.

I dont say we give permission for anything against the Gurus.

But We have to change with changing times.

Guru have done things at the appropriate times.

Why Guru Nanakji Start Sikhism & not made Khalsa Force?

Guru Gobind Singhji Started Khalsa because that was the need of that time.

Now infact majority of the Soldiers in the Defence Forces Trim Beards.

Why have we started wearing Pants & Shirts?

Why dont we wear Kacherras & Jabbas to our Offices?

Majority of the Sikh youth dont want to keep long Beards.

If they are not given such liberty they will revolt & become Clean Shaven.

Trimming of Beard should be taken lightly.

Majority of Sikh girls are marrying Clean Shaven Guys. They wont mind even if they are not Punjabis but they dont want to move along with Guys with Long Beards.

We become angry when we see a Sikh with his Beard Trimmed, but have our leaders missed out any occassion in praising the Hard work of Dharmendra & his Sons, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol?

Oh Dharmendra Sadde Punjab da Puttar.

Why this Discrimination? Because he has become Rich & Famous.

Bloody Diplomats.

Majority of the Leaders with Full beards are not doing any good for Sikhism. Their only aim is to fool the innocent so that they make loads & loads of money.

Sorry to dissapoint you'll once again.

But I will not stop telling the Truth.

Sikhism is already a Liberal faith.

Unfortunately it has been hijacked by Masands who like 300years in the past.

Sikhism has always been progressive:

-Open place of worship and eating to all faiths, castes, creeds etc

-Total gender equality

-Widow remarriage

-No imposed codes of dress on men and women

-Democratic institutions - eg Panchayats, Gurmatta (consensus) etc etc

The list is endless.

Gursikh of Universe? And yet you think the Khalsa was initiated for the sole purpose of fighting mughals?

Firstly, everything in Sikhi is from Nanak. All the Guru's after Him, merely put his philosophy and his teachings into physical form. Nanak started the Khalsa, Gobind Singh gave it a physical form. And it has nothing to do with fighting or being an army. It was the first to introduce the concept of equality among the human race, among other things. Hundreds of years before the west could even catch up to it. Infact, even today they do not have the perfect democratic representation for their people. Sikhi does.

Why are you always focusing on the negativity of the world? In the world of hopelessness Guru Nanak brough the light. And he didn't force it down people's throats, so neither should we. Follow Nanak's teachings, that's all we need.

alone a saint is helpless and cant protect himself

alone sipahi becomes jalim

so nothing strange

AND BY THE WAY..................

WHY DONT U SAY IT STRAIGHT TAHT U WANT TO TRIM UR BEARD AND FOLLOW SIKHI AS U WANT IT (ur way)..........................

lol...you have to be kidding me, right?

Yes, The philosophy of "gender equality" was present in Sikhi before the West.

But, to say the Sikhs actually achieved gender equality before it became present in Western countries is outright ridiculous.

Gender equality present...yes, in the Gurus time.

Just like there were gender equality flashes during various periods in American History.

But, to say the Sikhs have accomplished their philosophy first is just wrong.

Look at the main issues the Sikhs are facing now...woman cant do kirtan? woman cant do certain types of seva?...

you think all miniorities are represented the exact way the Sikh philosophy states they should be?

Philosophy is from the east, but West actually achieved the goal.

so u do agree that sikhism believes in equality?

well now as sikhs lets follow our religion to the max, yeah so that means not trying to 'liberalise it'.

afterall ur agreeing that sikhi has it all but we need to follow it.

''you think all miniorities are represented the exact way the Sikh philosophy states they should be?

Philosophy is from the east, but West actually achieved the goal.''

explain?

if u want to look at how minorities are treated then look at how many probs we faced trying to keep the turban in western countries.

if u wanna talk abt gender equality, then on paper women and men are equal but have u looked at job opportunities, a man gets a job for who he is, a woman often for what she looks like-equality in the west, grin.gif .

Lets pretend for a moment that you’re for real…

I hate to break it to you, but the problem is not your beard. It’s your self-esteem. Today you shave your beard, and the only thing that stops you from jumping off a bridge tomorrow and ending your misery is that not everyone else is doing it.

Do you have any idea what morons people look like when they claim sikhi and their beard is shaved? The fact that one would claim sikhi and then completely violate it, shows some serious mental deficiency. If you are real, I pity you.

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
