This dohara isn't bani and the "standard" version used in most places is actually just till "Khvaar hoi sabh milangay, bachay sharan jo hoi".

Damdami Taksali Gutkas go further and add one extra line of "vahiguru naam jahaaz hai..."

Some others go and add another line after than one and that is the "khanda jaa(n) kay haath meh..."

If you go other places there are even additions to this. At Gurdwara ThaRa Sahib in the parkarma of Sree Darbar Sahib, they say "Tegh Bahadur Kay Chalat..."

I know there is another version too but all I remember of the wording is something about "chamak" . Not sure.

I personally think the 'basic' version that everyone does and is standard is enough.

vaaheguroojeekeefatheh!!!

gurmukh pyare jee

in the quote above i think that

"sootre path," should so "so uthray paar" (that person gets across the world ocean)

and "jo sharda kar sawek ke" should be "jo sharda kar sayvday" (those who do seva with sharda)

and "Guru par karan har" should be "Gur paar uthaaranhaar" (Guru will help them cross the world ocean)

I think up to "Raj Karega Khalsa" is all Guru Gobind Singh ji's bachan from Bhai Nand Lal ji's vaars

I think the line "Guru Granth ji manio pragatt guraa(n) kee dayh" was originally "Guru Panth ji manio pragatt guraa(n) kee dayh" but people changed it.

The part from "Khanda ja ke haath mai" upto "Guru Kalgidhar Jagdeesh" is by Giaani Giaan Singh jee, i think.

information above is from other learned gursikhs - i am trying to verify it with the written proof... don't know where to find it....

please forgive my mistakes

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Our local Gurudwara used to include "Khanda Jaa Kae Haath Mae" in the Ardaas, but then Amrik Singh Zakhme came and did keertan for a week.

He told the sangat that Akal Takhat had issued a Hukumnama that the Dohras at the end of the Ardaas should only be to the end of "Khuaar Ho-ae Subh Milan-gae". But at Darbar Sahib, they do it to the end of "Waheguroo Naam Jahaaj Hai".

All a bit confusing. grin.gifwacko.gif

khanda jaa kae haath mai kalgee so hae sees

so hamree rachiyaa karae guru khaldee dhar jagdhees

sagal dhuaar ko chaad kae gaaeho thuhaaro dhuaar

baahae gahae kee laaj as gobind dhaas tuhaaar

...thats the one i normally hear at the local gurdwara (sorry if ive spelt it wrong).....however theres another gurdwara which doesnt say the "khanda jaa kae haath mia.." bit!

as some one said in a previous post that some bits have been changed by people...why is that...does that mean the dohra is said wrong? :| @

bhul chuk maaf

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji k fateh!
