Sangat jee Carrying on from Kandola jees "little debate with a teacher" i bumped into mr varia testerday and i was telling him about the four jugs as he wanted to know about sikhi

he replied with "the four jugs are from the Snatan Dharama, Ahindu scripture"

i was really confused at what id just said and then i went on to tell him about sikhi and the supahi aspect...then he said that i was a hindu kshatria...can anyone:

1.explain these points to me and help me because its driving me insane..

2.give me some good argements and some hardcore evidence that'll show him what i mean

some sidhs who did mass bhagti had maharaj di darshan and hence came up with that.

a hindu warrior? you walk around with a dastaar and he calls you a hindu warrior?

grin.gif

unless he means your ancestors were warriors?

personally i dont think you made any sense right now!

personaly i say let him talk about his religion, understand it and just carry on like normal...he is speaking about his dharam and sometiems its best to keep quiet, especially if i have no idea what your saying now LOL.gif

he called you a khatri because guru nanak dev jis surname was Rai...Rai back in the day was a khatri name.

thats what i think anyhow.

Is this correct?? Guru Nanak's surname was Rai?? Or did you mean to say Guru Gobind Singh Ji's surname WAS Rai.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

It was Guru Gobind Singh ji's name that was Rai- And even if he did have a Khathri name he never preached or believed in caste. Thats why all Sikhs have got the same name Singh.

He called you a hindu warrior, thats weird, a dont think anyone can be called a hindu if they dont worship idols, as thats thats the main part of thier religion.

N so what if the 4 jugs are in the hindu scriptures? That dont mean anything.

Its just like the Jews were the first ppl to believe in Heven and Hell and in One God, but does mean anything about the other religions who believe in one God and Heaven n hell? No.

N i think no one should get mad over these issues, If you have got faith in the Guru, why get worried over things like this?

Youve got better things to do, Serve your fellow Sikhs and God and meditate on the Wonderful Lord.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATHE

lol tiny advice, never discuss or debate with someone till ur sure u got some solid points, lol something i never have, reading takes ages lol.

ok, i think he called u a hindu warrior cos some hindu guys believe that Guru Ji are hindu and they created the Khalsa to protect the other hindus during the nasty mughul time  :umm: .

anyways thats one reason he may have and its understandable cos we all have the potential to get brainwashed.

now lol what makes him think that the hindus came out with yug theory, i mean next they gonna claim God was an idea hindus came out with first, just cos we believe something a hindu believes dont make us hindu gosh men these days.

i dont think there is any reason why u cannot bring out a discussion on 8.4m rebirths cos why should we hide our religiuos beliefs cos someone might use it against us? but lol i doubt that is worth discussing as he dont disagree with 8.4m.

Anyways, all the religions of the world have so many similarities, some believe in rebirth, some believe in God :@ @ , some believe in Friday being a holy day, some believe in fasting, some are against fasting, gosh does that mean we ALL the same religion, which according to some hindus would be er Hinduism rolleyes.gif :umm: .

And I thought Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji came from Bedi group or does that mean some next thing.

lol bro have fun and soz not of help but do search for yug topic, im sure it was discussed some while back, anyways.

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
