Japmans,

I'm not sure if I understand what you're trying to say.

The difference in why Taksaal says we "should" and why Jatha says it is a "must" is because Jatha considers Keski to be a Kakaar.

Taksaal and Jatha have the same viewpoints on the other 4 Kakaars, (i.e. that they are "musts" for Amrit dharee Gursikhs) and since the Jatha considers Keski a Kakaar as well, of course they would request the same standards for that Kakaar as for any other.

However, the reasoning behind why Keski is considered a Kakaar is off limits for debate, so we should end this now.

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa

Waheguru ji ki Fateh

This is a really old post but i want to reply to it anyway! about how ppl want to prevent a girl from wearing a distar who is not amritdhari

I ties a turban for 15 years on and off b4 i took amrit - I did not take it off since- n know a girl who quit wearing hers bcuz she wasn't doing it all the time n felt like she cudn't keep up her amrit - I think it is a terrible loss - n ppl shud mind their own buzness instead of tryn to enforce other ppl. In the b-gining I didn't always do everything right (or in the end either) and ppl tried to make me take off my turban back then- well I didn't then- not for them - sometimes later i did if i felt like it until partaking amrit - now tho I may not allwayz b 100% at least i can keep my keski on & it matters to me.

ppl who mess n other ppls buzness are controll freaks who manipulate cowardz - stand up for your self right or wrong other wise you will never be strong! how can u be a singh or singhni if all you are doin is bowing or cowtowing to peer pressure - Only guru can make you stainless not other ppls opinions of what you show!

This is such a stupid topic, who cares if this women wants to wear a keski, what about all those men who sit around with a cigarette in one hand and and beer in the other and a huge pug on their head, I think whoever is making this petition is just some pompous sexist retard who has nothing better to do.

Personally these singh's are better off doing simran or paath, praying this bibi learn to respect her keski and be blessed with Amrit de daat. If this bibi ji is committing bujjar kuraet's then why are these singh's worrying about this bibi when there are soo many other paapi's out there. The bibi concerned is accountable for her actions and it should be left like that..If she cannot respect guru sahib's nishani, guru sahib's crown she will end up paying for it in ways that we cannot comprehend!

well dont hate me for it.. but i think im the only one that supports the petition

its not a sort of a double standard but a higher standard..

ideally any person with Kakaars and Khalsa Garb should act like a khalsa... Khalsa Garb is earned thru Khalsa deeds.. but since we (avg sikhs) have lost are real khalsa way of life.. we have changed our Standards! so u can still wear the khalsa garb but not act like one!!

however, heres a chance to save whats left.. with the women... if u want to wear the khalsa garb and really represent sikhi then u have to earn it.. by following the sikh way of life.. and if u do "bad" deeds.. u dont deserve to represent sikhi.. now i know no one is perfect.. but if ur delibratly doing those "bad" deeds without trying to better urself then u dont deserve to be in the uniform!

we cant inforce the guys .. but atleast try to save the other gender....

sikh image is not something to be played around with!
