I saw a very strange incidence of Gurbani helping someone out. It has the power to do anything, but that doesn't mean we should stop seeing doctors or nurses.

Gurbani works alongside the other remedies, after all doctors and nurses are also sent by God to help people and it would not be wise to ignore that aspect and absorb the name of God also whilst being dealt with them.

I completely agree, You go to a doctor for medicines but even then there is the chance of complications. Waheguru's kirpa cures us and prevents them from happening.

By reading Gurbani, reciting mool mantar and prayers and contemplating upon Waheguru's name, the soul is cleansed. It is written in Gurbani (not an exact quote) that if our clothes become stained, we can wash them out and they can become clean again, but if the soul becomes stained then the only way to cleanse it is through prayer. By accepting Waheguru and his will your wordly matters come to a conclusion, the only thing your mind becomes fixated upon is Waheguru so in a way you are rid of diseases because your mind no longer cares for it. With the True Guru's help the disease can be rid completely but only with unbreakable concentration upon Waheguru. Wordly afflictions is what comes with life on this Earth, Waheguru wants us to get to a point where we only focus upon him, where we break all bonds with matters of this Earth and increase our connection with the all powerful Waheguru, something I dream of achieving one day.

Nice words TheLion ji. Although it is not possible to break all bonds with the world paji. Reason being that we also live a gristi jeevan, and jap naam. Our Gurus did not run away from the world into jungles, but I understand what you are saying that the wordly afflictions would easier to tolerate, all with Gurujis grace and concentration with love.

In my opinion I dont think it makes sense to say gurbani cures diseases,

Moreover, I think a reasonable rebuttle would be, if someone does believe that prayer does cure diseases then what about the mass deaths experienced in countries like Africa where babies who dont even know the meaning of prayer die from futile diseases like diarrhea? Are they cursed for not doing their prayers? Are their pleas for health less than those who pray in the eyes of God?

In my opinion people are too well settled with the idea that god will fix everything for them, that if Punjab is going through a drug epidemic we should pray for a solution, if gurdwarai in Pakistan are deteriorating because of lack of care we should pray for someone to fix that problem too, yet very few people look within themselves to take initiatives.

I am a Sikh and married to Hindu. Last year my very healthy husband fell sick, it started with a cough, fever and then within two weeks we ran out of all options. He is young in late 30’s. It was not COVID, doctors just could not find out what was happening, his ventilator failed after two days. Doctors asked me to prep for the worse. In that moment of despair I cried and called my Mom. She is a nitnemi. My mother told me not to cry and she asked me sit by his side and do patth, she said to keep faith. Next couple of days people from my village sat in Gurudwara to do paath for him. And finally a miracle happened. He woke up on the days of our son’s 5th Bday. He is home and still recovering. Doctors call him a miracle, they all had given up on him but Baaba g brough him back. So paath and faith can make miracles happen. Their is only so much humans can do, after that its all in his hands. We have witnessed that happen. I hope it helps someone who is in a situation like ours and make you stronger.

Waaheguru 🙏
