I've always wondered why Sikhs ar't meant to wear kalgis. I do understand that Bhai Nand Lal ji atributed the kalgi to Guru Sahib by saying that he's the one of the royal plum (kalgi), why shuoldn't Siksh wear ti consider Guru Sahib has made Sikhs his roop.

It's a genuine question, as to why not :lol:

because are Guru Gobind Singh jis sevadars - kalgi is the mark of a King, we are slaves of the king.

Together we are his roop, individually we are not.

But veer jeyo, although we are indeed his slaves, he also blessed us with "sardari", i.e royalty by giving Sikhs the Dastaar, Royalty, so although we are slaves of the Shabad, Guru Sahib definetly didn't treat his Sikhs as slaves, but bowed down to get Amrit from Sikhs...

yea i heard that ppl dont wear it out of respect and think that it is only for Guru Sahib , but we hav guru ji's roop, i think ppl wear it on ocasions like when u get married n stuf.......... i dont think guru ji wud be offended if we wear, it looks gud too, cos by wearing it we arent saying we are better than Guru Ji just for decorative purposes init

But I disagree with it being worn on ´weddings, I mean - what's tht point? but then I think in a way that if Kaur is princess, then kalgi shows you're the King, Royal

He bowed down to get amrit from 5 Sikhs - and said wherever there are 5 Sikhs recognise that the Guru is there.

Individually we are supposed to be humble, not walk around telling ourselves that we are kings.

If indeed a Sikh is a king then ask yourself on what level are you a Sikh? How many true 100% Gursikhs like e.g. Baba Nand Singh Ji are there. If people like him didnt wear kalgi how can we step up and start wearing it.

Just like any royal; court the son of the King cannot wear the crown of the King.

person who wear's a Kalgi does take it off when he is about to do/take laavan to show that Guru sahib ji is the one who is the True King!
