exercise is good, but nutrition is what's key....

you can't expect to be as healthy as possible when you're feeding yourself junk and not at least meeting the minimum requirements of what your body really needs....

i've heard a common saying from a very ewll known athletic trainer in Ottawa.... "there's 5 steps to better health..the first four are better eating, and the fifth is exercise"

www.tonygreco.ca

that's the dude, and you can read up on his accomplishments if you wanna challenge his theory.

also...

to the person who asked the question

please don't give up if you don't see results after a week... chances are you will, but if you don't see results, don't worry!!! you have to stick in there and keep it going........ even if you don't actually LOSE weight, yuo'll FEEEL so much better on an energy front, and just a general health front.... being healthy and being fit are often misunderstood as being the same thing.....but they're not the same thing...many skinny and thin people are "fit" but are not actually healthy.
