Dear Singh1313 ji,

I dont have profile of prakash badal.I just know that he is no longer bothered about Sikh issues and trying to project himself as a Punjabi leader of BJP and Biharis. His youth dal procession from Talwandi Sabo to Tarn Taran had mostly konay monay youngsters mostly bihari labourers who indulged in all sorts of anti Sikh acts like taking desi daaroo, zarda and other nashays on the way .Similarly

The way badal and his family hijacked the stage at the 400th Shaheedi Divas of Shri Guru Arjun Dev ji at Tarn Taran is highly deplorable .

The way badal and avtar(SGPC president) laughed at the end the program saying the stage should not be used for political purposes and that they had no link with the views expressed by Sardar Mann should be condemned by all right thinking persons.Actually badal used the same stage for political purposes throughout the Shaheedi samagams.

So far I had been thinking 'etc Punjabi' channel was a non biased TV station as it has been broadcasting shabad keertan from Shri Darbar Sahib,Amritsar it showed it's pro badal stand at Tarn Taran when Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann started his speech first his voice (audio) was stiffled and later his speech was not shown. As soon as Sardar Mann's brief speech ended the channel started showing the siropa and momento presentattion ceremony by badal and gang.

The next day we came to know about the text of Sardar Mann's speech from some Punjabi newspapers.

This shows how free the media is in India where one cannot express his/her view freely.

People in Punjab should support Akali Dal(Amritsar) instead of Congress,Badal dal or BJP.

Unfortunately many traditional Akalis are leaving Badal dal in Punjab to join Congress because of badal's policies, whereas they should not join Congress even

yeah i saw that. Avtar singh was laughing like Badal was a bollywood comedian or something. Badal quoted lines from gurbaani with very incorrect pronunciations. I have to say he is a good speaker and i can see how people in Punjab fall for his act. He has good knowledge of sikhi bit ignores the concept of Miri Piri. After guru Arjun Dev ji was shaheed, Guru Hargobind Ji wore two swords. Badal and his crew ignore this spirit of activism in sikhi. He basically scared everyone at the smagam by saying Punjab has gone through a lot of blood shed and we can't let people stir things up again, referring to Mann's party. He basically said, look all you sikhs better chill out or we will get another 50,000 killed.

Z TV should be ashamed of how they cut off sardar mann's speach, what a bunch of fascists...

I think its high time for a sikh channel!!... People with resources should come forward. Provide sangat all over the world, coverage of sikh kirtans and samagams, free from the clutches of the lkes of badal. 'm sure there are plenty of enterprising sikhs who can make this happen. Just need to put a bit of effort into it. Then we dont need etc or z tv to beam biased shows.

i am surprised Z tv is so biased. What are they afraid of? Are they a state-run Communist channel? How can you show a whole samagam and then cut off a speaker's whole speech? where are the secular indians now? Where is the press trust of india? Does the press only work for certain political forces? Where is the freedom of press? Where is the unbiased coverage? India really needs to wake up. By being this way they are only sowing the seeds of another partition. You can't claim to be a democracy and have such state controlled media, that's not democracy.

what's really weird is that Badal made so many refernces to Mann and his beliefs but the viewers could not form their own views becuase the channel never showed mann's speech! Z Tv fed only what they wanted to feed the viewers. Wow, what coverage! That's like seeing a debate in america between kerry and Bush and the channel cuts off Kerry's debate. Seriously, people in India need to wake up from this self-imposed slave mentality.

I am so glad I live in the west rather than that fake democracy known as India. No wonder sikhs in india are lost, they have no access to information.

anyways, what goes around comes around. let them have their fun.

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

I did not see the censorship of Sardar SS Mann, although I quite agree with some of the comments above. It was deplorable as to how Badal and his mates could dominate a Pnthic programme, and make it into their own political rally. This was very disappointing, as it took away all concentration towards Guroo Arjan Dev Jee's Mahaan Shaheedi, and made it more about promoting Badal.

Further, Badal was presenting Siropas in the presence of Guroo Maharaaj to distinguished Panthic personalities, alongside the SGPC President. They both contrived to side-line the Akaal Takhat Jathedaar. Our Panthic leaders must have the strength and resolve to stand-up to politicians trying to use Guroo Jee's Shaheedi for their own political gains. :@
