>The amount of people opting to wear baana currently seems to be at

>an all time high, with Guru Ji,s kirpa more and more youth seem to be

>wanting to wear baana, including Singhnia which is really positive

>to see.

>

>However we seem to be forgetting that baana is not just about

>changing our dress code but our actions too. It seems that we are

>forgetting the responsibility that comes with the baana. By wearing

>baana we are not just representing sikhi but something bigger… the

>Khalsa. By wearing the baana Guru Ji dressed his Panj Piyare in we

>should be aiming to be more like them.

>Baana is nothing without the right actions and baani.

>Someone said in a sikhi discussion that people who do choose to wear

>baana should do an extra nitnem on top of their everyday one. This I

>believe to be true, as if we are putting on Guru Jis baana we need

>the kamai to go with it. If not an extra nitnem I still believe the

>amount of baani done should be increased slightly at least.

>I believe People wearing baana should atleast be waking at

>amritvela,as a minimum.

>When people look at people dressed in baana automatically they have

>high expectations in thinking what the baana should represent and

>the type of personality that person would have as is said to be

>“ck”.

>Baana is not about looking “cool”.

>I’m sad to say to me it seems baana is becoming more of a trend then

>anything else. More youth are wearing hazooriya, without knowing the

>significance as to why people used to wear them or why they

>themselves are wearing them.

>With baana should come more baani, more seva, and more humility

>through seva. If we’re going to wear baana we need to adapt more to

>the ways of Khalsa.

>Which means even basic stuff we should know not to do as Sikhs such

>as swearing, whilst wearing Guru Ji;s baana as speaking such

>disgusting words in my eye’s is blatant disrespect of baana and Guru

>Ji’s roop.

>Baana should be so so highly respected as is the uniform of the

>Khalsa, some people do have this respect and do not let their baana

>be disrespected in anyway, by not wearing it or going where people

>smoke or are committing other anti- gurmat actions. Some people

>won’t even wear baana when going o the toilet as see this as showing

>disrespect to the baana, as taking baana into such an unclean area.

>By just wearing the baana and not working on our actions, in trying

>to improve our own and others jeevans we are leading other people to

>believe that we are something which we are actually not. This could

>be seen as pakhand or as being fake and untrue to ourselves and

>other deceiving other people, however this also doesn’t mean we

>should pretend to be “ck” just to go with the baana. Without the

>love of Guru Ji baana is pointless.

Some of the pieces in this email are good, but didnt Singhs go to War with the baanay, didnt their baanay become unclean with blood, sweat? Dont take it personally just questioning the source.

some of the stuff was plain wierd. Some Sikhs have some wierd ways.

The toilet thing? If you drink alot of water in a day then youll end up showering or changing clothes 5-10 times a day or more.

they have bathrooms at the Gurdwara, I dont see people changing their clothes in order to go.

the smoking part? We live in a society were people smoke, and we would be walking around like theres vampires if we did that. Obviously dont go to like smoke bars, bars, cigar festivals etc but there is a point were you can only go so far.

its rehat to eat less, therefore you will need to go toilet less. the body needs to be trained to go toilet before you have ishanaan, i wouldnt call ways you dont agree with weird. its peoples own satkar levels. bana is such a great thing so in my eyes it should be treated exactly how said in the first post. n the thing with smoking, jus keep away from people when smoking, this duznt make you a vampire. i know alot of people who aint singhs who will move away from smokers due to the smell.

sory if offended n e1
