Talking to a Bangoli friend of mine, according to him, Bangladesh never wanted to part from Pakistan and the 90,000 Pakistan soldier that surrendered were not ready to die for East Pakistan. And the first democratically elected Bangladesh was never a recognized country until the Military overthrew the goverment and came into power. Things to think about.

While searching about this, I came across this

"When Pakistan army agreed to surrender, Hindu officers were sent to sign the negotiation instead of Sikhs. At this the Muslims of Pakistan refused to surrender saying that "brave people (Muslims) surrender only to brave people (Sikhs)." So Pakistan surrendered to the Sikhs, but Indian television did not show this on the television. They showed only hands."

"Late that afternoon as dusk was beginning to fall, General Niazi and Lieut. General Jagjit Singh Aurora, commander of India's forces in the East, signed the formal surrender of the Pakistani army on the grassy lawn of Dacca's Race Course. Niazi handed over his revolver to Aurora, and the two men shook hands. Then, as Pakistani commander was driven away in a Jeep. Aurora was lifted into the shoulders of the cheering crowd."

The sikhs have brought much glory to india, but India has never treated the sikhs as sikhs have treated India. The biggest sacrifice a people can give a nation is their blood. No nation has spilled more blood for India than the sikhs. But just as a stepmother never treats her stepchildren as her own, India continues to give the sikhs teh stepmotherly treatment.

Respect to all those brave soldiers who die everyday for the protection of india from foreign forces and shame on India for it's disgusting treatment of it's greatest nation, the khalsa panth.
