Evolution is happening now even. Evolution can take thousands of years.

in a thousand years from now some animals will look different due to their surroundings because we adapt to our surroundings.

IF world temperature dramitically falls and we start living in an ice age...in a thousand years frmo now (if humans survive it) we will not look the same , we will be hairier, shorter, and more hench. this is due because organisisms adapt to suit its surroundings...thas what evolution is.

But whether we evolved from apes or not i think there is evidence that supports it but then theres some people that say we didnt with their own evidence. theres evidence to support both claims.

but even if we did...... it was all in wahegurus will. ALL was part of god's plan. just like the last reply from "khalsa4ever" states , everything began from nothing. then creation sprung under god's will.

SOme things are not known to us because those are simply gods secrets which we may never know, like Guru nanak ji tells us.

According to Sikhism 'the directive principle' is teh creator who created everything and infused his spirit in teh living organisms.

The Guru says, "O, my body, the Lord infused his counciousness in you and only then did you appear on Earth".

Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj:

"One and the same Derective principle exists in the moon, the Sun, and the galaxies" (AGGS Ang 294)

Guru Ji said that " He established the earth, teh sky and the air, the water of the oceans, fire and food. he created the moon, teh stars and teh sun, night and day and mountains; he blessed the trees with flowers and fruits"

All your questions about what Sikhi says about the beginging of teh Universe and evolution are all answered in this book, take soem time to read it:

evolution cant explain so many things

1 ) Why did DInosauras appear or dissappear.

2 ) Why dont we see all permutation and combination of life if evolution is true such as humans with 3/4/5/6 eyes all struck 360 degrees around the head. It would have been suchan advantage to see 360 degrees.

So that is why it is still an theory .

It only explains currant facts .

It cant predict any thing like future species etc.

Till then Gurujis word stand.

"Ek onkar karta purakh "

He alone is the creator and destroyer of all living things.

So let us Simran his name.

evolution cant explain so many things

1 ) Why did DInosauras appear or dissappear.

there are many theories that talk about the dinasour extinction ............ e.g. meteorite impact, super volcano, ice age, ect

BUT who cares.....however they got extinct.....it was within gods hukam. God made everything happen.

If humans really did evolved from apes....then it was because god made it happen.

according to sikhism, we dont conclusively agree nor disagree with the evolution theory (apes evolving to humans) . Evolution itself does happen , that is a fact. But whether or not humans evolved from apes or not is arguable. There is some evidence to support the theory, but then some questions unaswered. the Sikh stance on the ape evolution theory is neutral.

To say simply: IF we did evolve from apes, then it was according to Gods hukam.

Many scientists try to answer questions about the universe and unravel creation mysteries. But guru tells us that some mysteries only God knows. e.g. the creation of the world. Guru nanak tells us that hindus and muslims try totell us about the creation of the world, but none know the time, month season ect... only god knows.

So i believe this is 1 of those mysteries that only nirankar kartar knows.

Because as sikhs , we know that "everything is within wahegurus Hukam, nothing is outside it says Guru ji.

If the world is only a few thousand years old then ask the muslim or christian or jew "What about the dinosaurs?" The dinosaurs pre-date existing human bone carbon dating that we can find. I beleive human was there and lasted, even now. We evolve but we were still a creation of Waheguru.

its a THEORY thts all thst widely accpted in science but i always think what are we going 2 evolve in 2 next?????????? any thoughts or is this where the process ends with our brain being the most complex fing in da universe

actually the brain will not really grow anymore they think. in this anthropology course i took the prof was like humans have the toughest time giving birth as it is. the birth canal can't expand anymore so that kinda acts as a barrier against an increase in brain size.

however, much of our brain power is not used as of today. so the next step in evolution will be to get that to work.

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
