A Sakela also known as watered steel type sword is made by ancient sword craftsmen of asia, many have tried to replicate the craft today, however it is truly lost in time.

how much would would a typical sakela cost these days - and is it true the sword will never break in battle worst comes to worst it will bend a little but never break

did ikali phula singh ji own one?

The method used to make these Shastras is no longer known, we know what some of the processes were used and how metals were mixed but we cannot replicate the science used to forge it. In the puratan world this was a family, father to son handed down knowledge.

Akali Poola Singh would most certainly would have owned such weapons, If you read Shashtar Nam Mala by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Dasam Granth, the glorification of weapons is beautifully composed.

A good puratan sword would set you back £400.-£600, that’s just a good one, not a brilliant one!

Theres two types of swords, skela and flaad

skella is flexible metal, similar to a patta, saif, khanda - more common amongst bludgening and thrusting swords

flaad is unflexible and brittle which breaks if you hit metal upon metal, but these are commonly cutting swords, a real swordsman will never let his weapon strike another sheild / sword.
