Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Oh how I missed this thread. The best thread on this forum at the mo :D

Trapped, we are all trapped in this world,

Rencoranation, born over and over again,

We say trapped but do we know what trapped means??

Trapped can meen many things,

Trapped can be when we are trapped in a room for days,

It may mean u cant escape this world,

We only truly understand something when it happens to us,

Trapped can mean 1000's o things,

Naam Japu,

And then we shall be truly free,

Free from this world,

Free from all this evel,

Free with Vaheguru Ji !!

He said, "Let there be," and it happened.

He made the latent turn into the manifest,

Out of the formless He created the form.

What a wondrous game He played!

What a carefree game He plays!

When He disclosed the hidden secret,

He lifted the veil from over His face.

Why does He now hide from me?

The Real permeates everyone.

What a carefree game He plays!

He said, "We have honored mankind;

None has been created like you;

You are the crown of all creation."

What a proclamation with the beat of drum!

What a carefree game He plays!

He himself indulges in these carefree acts;

He himself feels frightened of himself;

He has taken abode in every house;

And the people keep wandering in delusion.

What a carefree game He plays!

He himself aroused longing to become mad in love.

He himself became Laila to steal Majnun's heart.

Himself He wept, himself consoled himself.

0, what a game of love He plays!

What a carefree game He plays!

Himself the lover, He himself is the Beloved.

Here logic and reason have no part to play.

I rejoice in my union with the Beloved.

Why does He create separation now?

What a carefree game He plays!

There is a candle in your heart,

ready to be kindled.

There is a void in your soul,

ready to be filled.

You feel it, don't you?

You feel the separation

from the Beloved.

Invite Him to fill you up,

embrace the fire.

Remind those who tell you otherwise that

Love

comes to you of its own accord,

and the yearning for it

cannot be learned in any school.

  • 1 month later...

i wonder why this thread died... i always loved it so much

Leaving my parents, I am tied to you

Oh Waheguru! My beloved Guru

Whatever happens is ordained by him.

His mandate none dare alter.

My pangs of agony cry aloud

Someone should go and tell my Master

For whom I pine.

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh

i would write poetry but somehow, i personally, don't feel it's right to write such things and do vaheguru's upma because guru ji has already done it in gurbaani and so how can we find words to describe vaheguru when guru ji has used every word possible and they were as one with vaheguru.

Guru gobind singh ji wrote akaal ustat a whole bani just to praise vaheguru and vaheguru is described and praised throughout bani so i would rather qoute gurbaani and let people read it like:

ਪੰਨਾ 837, ਸਤਰ 9

ਉਪਮਾ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹੀ ॥

I cannot express the Praises of my God; I cannot express His Praises.

ਪੰਨਾ 290, ਸਤਰ 9

ਤਾ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

His Praises cannot be spoken;

ਪੰਨਾ 350, ਸਤਰ 15

ਕਿਆ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਖੀ ਜਾਇ ॥

What Glories of Yours can be chanted?

He is so All-powerful, that I cannot even describe Him; no one can chant His Praises. ||2||

and where guru ji says sing the lord's praises i reckon it means through gurbaani.

I don't know if the poetry here is from guru ji or people write it themselves but that's what i think anyway.

I'm most probably wrong and can someone justify or explain why it's ok to make your own poetry about Vaheguru cause i don't really know anything i just try and show what bani saying but i usually get that wrong as well.

so i apologise if i've offended anyone or said anything wrong i am sorry sangat bukhshan yog hai bakhash laina

in response to previous poster..... beg for ur forgiveness beforehand.... this is a beautiful thread n has been so inspiring to read... really dont think that anybody is trying to undermine or challenge the beauty n precednce that our Guru's, bhagats n fakirs have set in Gurbani..... these are really our own humble understandings, ponderings n feelings which have been evoked n provoked wen trying to convey our love and admiration for Vaheguru.... yet such words cannot do justice... personally... n i beg for ur forgivness again... an inspiring poem or verse becomes infectious... deepening love n awe n increasing the thirst n desire to learn more about gurbani n those historical events which have coloured our incredible Dharam... forgive me also think it acts as a valuable first stepping stone for some of our younger brothers n sisters who may have little undertsnding of Sikhi/ Gurbani due to barriers n difficuties they may face in terms of accesing n understanding language

Pls forgive me again for my endless flaws, shortcoming n errors

dhoor of ur sweet sweet charan

vaheguru, vaheguru, vaheguru, vaheguru, vaheguru
