Sat Sri Akal:

Here's a general summary of the events of 1984. The first part talks of the invasion of Harimandir Sahib in June 1984. The second part deals with the genocide of Sikh in November 1984.

Indian Generals, after having surveyed the Harimandir Sahib, had estimated that the fighters would simply surrender when the Army showed up. They also calculated that if they attacked, it would be over, cleaned up and back to normal in 6 hours. They were sadly mistaken and paid dearly.

General Sundarji's own report in a videotape called "Bloody Punjab" described the invasion. He stated that regiments of infantry surrounded the Harimandir Sahib. They first attempted to send in commandoes. Upon entry into the complex, the commandoes suffered from HEAVY fire and were recalled. So, Plan B. They tried an APC. One Sikh took that down with a Chinese made RPG. After heavy casualties and sending waves upon waves of soldiers into the door of the complex (with heavy casualties), the soldiers finally entered into Harimandir Sahib.

Sikh Fauj took complete advantage of their familiarity of the territory. Harimandir Sahib has an expansive underground tunel system. One or two Sikhs would duck out, lob a grenade at a group of infantry and then move on to another opening to do the same. Marble foundations of the Harimandir Sahib had holes made in them and were used as pillboxes. Whenever army infantry tried to invade, they were completely lost as to where fire was coming (nobody expects the walls to shoot them...but they were). One innovation was done on stairways. Next to stairways are walls. In those walls, small holes were cut. Indian Infantry, when advancing

up these stairs, had their legs shot from these low-level pillboxes and cut down many soldiers.

The bungas surrounding Harimandir Sahib were stationed with Sikh snipers who would take down many targets that were advancing onto Harimandir Sahib. Fighting was done room to room, passage to passage, wall to wall and bullet by bullet.

Sikh Fauj was just 40 or so Sikhs with aged WW2 weapons fighting against thousands of infantry. The infantry was actually unable to neutralize the Sikhs who fought with their heritage in their hearts. Only after special requests for tank reinforcements from Delhi (origionally NOT part of the plan...they were going for the quick in and quick out deal...yeah, should have checked who you were fighting) were able to pulverize the Akal Thakat and other buildings in a supreme act of sacrilege were the Arm able to forsee victory.

That's June 1984.

On October 31 1984, Indira Gandhi was shot by her Sikh bodyguards. By that night, Delhi and its surrounding areas were literally in flames. Organized mobs led by Congress members looted, raped, tortured, murdered, plundered and inflicted maximum damage to the Sikh community. The first manauver that was undertaken was to burn down a Gurudwara. This was not a simple act of rage, but a subtly planned act of evil. The Gurudwara is a central gathering place of Sikhs. If the Gurudwaras remained intact, then the Sikhs would have a place to gather, formulate a plan and retaliate (and in places in which Gurudwaras were not torched, Sikhs did launch defenses against Hindu mobs). Any place where Sikhs gathered were dispersed by police, who promised safety of the Sikhs. After the groups of Sikhs were disbanded, Hindu mobs targeted each Sikh house one by one and committed the worst possible acts against their fellow man which even beasts of nature would vomit at. Still, Sikhs in their homes put up a fight. Those Sikhs who had registered legal firearms shot at the invading mobs and kept them at bay. However, the po

lice again played its sinister role in this and disarmed the Sikhs who were defending themselves and put them in jail.

Keep in mind that all this time, the army had requested to intervene and restore order in the many burning towns and cities of India. They were denied permission to do so for three days. When finally deployed, the genocide came to an abrupt end. Had the army been deployed instantly after the assasination, no genocide would have taken place, but that would not be a satisfactory conclusion to those politicians who would sell their mothers for their political seats. Instead, they organized mobs, obtained information of where Sikhs lived from local registry offices holding tax information, passed out tires and gasoline to torch Sikhs alive, iron rods to break the skulls of their own neighbors and other weapons of torture. The police not only stood by as all this happened, but some actively participated in this carnage.

Main reason SO says sant thakur singh ji we can't question some with gian or atleast ultra gian

No offense to you Gabroo Jee, we can't question some person with gian, but why is that Guru Granth Sahib Jee is questioned periodically and nothing is said to the Babas?

This is the biggest mistake we can ever make, have more vishwaash and belief in a person not questioning what they say and do, and forgetting about Thur Ki Bani.

I've seen a lot of posts not just about baba takhur ji, saying

" if he says it then its got to be true." And then other post constantly questioning why did Guru Ji do this, why do we have to do this, how come Gurbani says this etc etc. Theres a difference between Gurbani Vichaar and questioning Gurbani constantly.

Everyone has their own perseption of a person, manmukh, gurmukh being either Right or Wrong, True or False. But Gurbani is never false and is the complete Sach. I think we should try to follow and understand this True path instead of following the path of others.

but this doesn't mean baba takhur ji is not telling the truth.

Bhai Sahib, i'm not bothered whether or not Baba Takhur Ji is telling the truth or not. But this is exactly what i mean, you say he is telling the truth, and i personally believe that Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindrawale is shaheed. We spend more time trying to make each other understand who is right and who is wrong, when ultimately our understanding should be of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and nothing else.

It's pointless trying to convince others that he is alive or shaheed. According to what Baba Thakur Ji says, if Bhindrawale comes back, he comes back, but I firmly stand on the decision taken by the Panth that he is shaheed, and i follow no others.
