Beadbi Stopped

AKAASH WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE SOLUTION TO PREVENTING BEADBI? JUST BECAUSE YOU ONLY SEE THESE PEOPLE WHEN THEY POP OUT AT A PROTEST DOES IT MEAN THEY DONT DO ANYTHING ELSE?

Protesting is not a preventative measure for stopping beabdi, its reactive. The solution firstly is to stop wasting the energies of people in days outs and look at a longer term solutions. Each issue will have its individual solution. We need to understand Gurmat, and take on Sehaj. Arguements are won with Gurmat, not large numbers of Sikhs.

Move more emphasis on the Parchar and less on the Protest. This is Sikhi not undercover cops doing weekly raids.

Sarbloh gave a good idea of doing an akhand path for asking forgiveness for what happened at Ek Niwas....thats Gurmat.

The problem here is about deep seated insecurities, the question that needs to be asked is what is the drive, the motivation to do “seva”of this nature but also seva generally. In my opinion the motivation here is not genuine, the cause is false. It is nothing but melodrama the reality is based on being noticed on the stage, one cannot hide who they are what their true reality is. In fighting ego as an external entity one has become the very source of it. It is a sad state of affairs when one lies to themselves convincing ones ego of the righteous cause. There is no victory to be gained by these actions, there is only loss our loss.

AK47 talks about “a few steps closer” he maybe speaking metaphorically about getting closer to “God”, the reality I believe is more motivated towards personal stability, the expulsion of self inflicted suffering, rather than diffusion with creation. It for me is disguised empty rituals.

YAAAWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

and yes that was a yawn of boredom ... why, because we had this whole conversation a few weeks back!!! Akash was stressing the point that there needs to be more parchar.... WE ALL AGREED!!!

other people said people should not do this out of ego and should look to control their hankar ... WE ALL AGREED!!!

so whats the point in having the same conversation again?! what new points have been raised now?! none!

and yes Kuljeet your correct, because people only see the external viewpoint, thats all they assume that happens! they dont think about the weeks of gurmat discussions taking place with families before the wedding dates and the efforts made to try and work something out.

and akash as i said to u previously singhs are already and have been for a while preparing literature, presentations, posters etc to educated people about guru granth sahib ji. Happy?

finally it seems the gill family were happy enough with the result, so much so that they even allowed the campaign to use their name! :) as with all things, with guru jis kirpa things will improve with time and experience.

lol. AK 47, looks like we are all yawning at each others comments! Who's really awake then??? Anyway, I suppose rather than spending time underming each others view points, we are better off doing whatever sewa we feel we are capable of doing. I suppose the next discussion will be after the next campaign press release!!

I AM STILL WAITING FOR SOLUTIONS...EVERYONE IS GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES...THE ONLY POSITIVE PROACTIVE THING MENTIONED IS PARCHAAR....THIS IS 100% NEEDED...IT IS ALL OUR RESPONSIBILITY...SO LETS GET GOING....IT SHOULD HELP PREVENT FUTURE BEADBIS.....WHAT ABOUT ONGOING BEADBI?

GURMAT DISCUSSION IS ALWAYS HAD. BUT IF YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE UP YOUR MIND THAT THIS ISNT A BEADBI OR PEOPLE ARE RUNNING AROUND AFTER THEIR EGOS THEN THERE IS NO POINT DISCUSSING IT FURTHER.

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh

i think parchar is needed...but also te protest...these things must come hand in hand...akaash i understand ur point about the protests...n how it can create further problems, but i think it is difficult for any singh to sit n watch while guru ji is being disrespected in such away...

in 1978 when 13 singhs became shaeedi...for what reason were they opposing the nirankaris?? because they were doing beadbi of guru ji...they were standing up for maharaj...they have showed us the way...but the problem we face is that it is our people who are disrespecting maharaj...

so parchar is needed...we need to start telling students at sikh societies about the issues...they are the next generation to get married...if they know they hopefully wont follow in the footsteps of those doing it....we need lectures in gwaras. n leaflets, poters, etc....

just my 2 cents worth...

i hope i havent offended any one...

waheguru ji ka khalsa wahegur ji ki fateh!!!

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
