your right, as long as we do actually do something! but my friend, you will unfortunetly there are some people who literally do nothing! trust me im not judging anyone else other than myself. when i see our brothers and sisters doing seva (of all types - not just this stuff above), it makes me both proud to be thier brother as well as making me humble seeing that i have such a long way to go to have the same prem that they have.

its only when we realise that were not doing anything (lets be honest out of 24 hours in a day how much of that do we dedicate to vaheguru and seva?) and that we need to be doing something .. thats when we might actually get up and contribute as you u said, in seva, kirtan, langar, kids camps, parchar etc. but lets not in our hunkar kid ourselves that we are sikh sevadars, we have a long way to go before we do the seva in nimrata that maharajh requires.

but every step is one step closer!

Well done R4G Sikhs for stopping beadbi again. Long may it continue. and to all the people that keep saying that R4G are this and that, why dont you contact them (number is in the thread) and tell them who you are and how you would like to contribute to stopping this beadbi and maybe you would have some sort of appreciation for these people.

Talking about how you would do seva is easy.

Doing it is hard!

Being ignorant and egotistical is one hundred steps away from the Guru. Being a better Sikh is the hardest task of all and dont fool yourself by thinking "your seva" is compensating for other things in the rehit.

WHO ARE YOU AKAASH? IF YOU ARE WHO I THINK YOU ARE...THEN STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE...FEEL THE SPIRIT. LIVE AND LET LIVE. IF YOU HAVE A BETTER WAY TO TACKLE ISSUES THEN WHY NOT GO OUT AND DO THAT. OR IN A CONSTRUCTIVE WAY PUT THEM FORWARD. WITHOUT BASHING NEXT MAN. LETS NOT BICKER WITH EACHOTHER. DO SOME SIMRAN.

The “Live and Let live” philosophy is difficult to accomplish. Why do we then struggle to accept an others differing opinion and viewpoint?! Instead, our own insecurities make us feel that an others opinion is a direct attack on our belief. This is why someone’s constructive criticism is often seen by the next man as a moan. I suppose this is the way of the world and where the dangerous veil of ego stalls us from accepting the ultimate truth.

I have voiced my dubious concerns about the fire-fighting tactics of the anti-beadbi campaigns in other threads on this forum, to a degree driven by having some involvement in the past. If a statistical statement that 170 weddings have been “re-arranged” over a period of 3 years arouses a question by Akaash, then should it be seen as a condemnation or just a simple statement that needs back up? If Dancing Warrior makes a statement like “solution is not a bunch of Robin Hood type characters slapping their own backs every time they claim to save the Guru”, than instead of being comincal and cheekily yawning or dismissing his comments, take them on board. After all we are all part of the same sangat.

We all see things differently, someone once said “ONE MAN’S BEADBI MAY BE ANOTHER MAN’S SHARDA”. This is what we are up against, a difference of opinions!

I am your brother but sorry to say you lot dont see the brotherhood of the Khalsa anymore. Its your way or no way.

Well thats a Playground philosophy, not Gurmat.

Your egos are soo big that you cant even bear to hear someone's views. All I have said it that the Campaign and its members cannot escape the fact that the wider community dont agree with the way the campaign does its thing. Thats a fact, instead of Panth saviours like yourself, AK47, Papoo and gang dismissing valid points by the only counter arguement of why dont you do it (LOL), why not take them on board like Khalsas instaed of spoilt kids who's work has been questioned.

All I see is guilt being used as a tool to make people agree with your actions. I dont see no gurmat arguement. Whats this weekend's mission going to be?? What will the text say?? Probably something like you aint no Sikh of the Guru if you dont turn up!!

The best thing is that you dont want to even involve others in your party. If I have any better ideas then I have to go and set up another Campaign, you people wont even hear others out. Ekta is not about a few with their own agneda, Ekta is about the panth coming together to SOLVING problems.

I have not bashed anyone, please read again. I have highlighted that egos are so high that nothing is getting through to this group anymore. Seva done the wrong way will get a Sikh nowhere.

Anyway this group of undercover sevadars who pop out from the blue and disappear into the darkness, I guess the only names I know of the campaign are ubhi and Gurjeevan Singh. I know ubhi exists, well he was the fall guy representing a group who are scared to give names, are you about to commit a crime?? Who are the 5 Singhs who make decisions for the campaign as per its website?? Do they exist?? Its a great thing because nothing can stop a group of unknown people with one aim to surpass the number of protests done in the UK by animal right activists.

I feel no sprit man........

I have my doubts thats there is multiple id's being used grin.gif

HOW DO YOU KNOW THE OPINIONS ARE NOT TAKEN ON BOARD???

I DONT THINK A SIKH STRUGGLES TO TAKE OTHERS OPINIONS INTO ACCOUNT.

I THINK YOUR OPINION HAS BEEN HEARD...LIKE YOU SAID YOU HAVE AIRED YOUR CONCERNS...WHAT HAPPENS IS AFTER A WHILE IT BECOMES A BIT BORING...MAYBE THATS WHY THEY ARE YAWNING...I DONT THINK THEY SHOULD YAWN...JUST TELLING YOU A POSSIBLE REASON.

“solution is not a bunch of Robin Hood type characters slapping their own backs every time they claim to save the Guru”, A STATEMENT LIKE THIS IS NOT LIKELY TO RECIEVE A GOOD RECEPTION. WHY INSULT YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS LIKE THIS???? NO ONE CAN SAVE GURU JI. IF YOU CALL SOMEONE 'ROBIN HOOD TYPE CHARACTER' THEN OF COURSE THEY WILL THINK YOU ARE BEING NEGATIVE. IS THIS A CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM?

IT IS GOOD WE HAVE DIFFERENT VIEW POINTS....SHOWS WE HAVE LOOKED AT ALL ANGLES. WHAT I WOULD SAY IS BELIEVE ME OPINIONS ARE TAKEN ON BOARD.

We'll see.....probably some protest being organised as we speak because the Panth (which took Guru Nanak 200+ years to establish) needs a "quick fix". Wait for the text lads.....

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
