Ok from the responses I take it Ekta only applies to Akjs, Taksalis, Nanaksar etc a selective few. I had a feeling it was too good to be true. Never mind at least we can talk about it without arguing at least that’s something.

Ekta applies to any jatha which follows Gurmat, and accepts Dhan Dhan Siri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj as their Guru.

Pwalla your comments are most welcoming and show a change in you. Can I ask, when you say “Ekta” are you referring just to the AKJ Singhs and the Taksal Singhs? Would you go as far as to include UK Nihangs, Namdharies etc etc?

I don’t want you or anyone else to miss understand me and think I am asking you a calculating question I am not asking this question for this reason. I simply want to know does “EKTA” mean Ekta? Because if it does we have come along way.

Respectfully

DW :TH:

sorry bhaji, i didnt make myself clear.

this would not include namdharies. they believe in the continuation of Guru lineage in human form.

what happened to 'Guru Maneyo Granth.'

fatehji

great post pwalla! i was there then too when bhai sahib told us about the jeevans of the great gursikh and the happenings of 1978. He also said how hes never spoken out to sangat like he did openly to us which we are lucky having his darshan.

When such gursikhs who have had amazing experience of the past, and stayed with other amazing gursikhs, they know whats right for the panth. And all the gursikhs that have such past experiences all tend to say is ekta, but for alot of us our minds are so strong in our jathe its hard for us to become ekta because of the the views on the other jatha.

i have recorded the 'interview?' on my phone i will try put up

Namdharis dont follow Gurmat, nor do they accept Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as their guru.

Good post by pwalla.

Ekta is of maryada and of gurmat, if one dsnt follow gurmat then there cannot be ekta. reference being made to naamdharis and other groups who are not part of the khalsa panth.

Sant kartaar singh jee, bhai fauja singh jee, baba nihaal singh jee, Sant baba harnam singh jee etc all had/have gurmat therefore also have guru sahibs kushia and pyaar amongst other gursikhs.

WRT panthic programs, its a shame to seee that not alot of people actually make an effort to attend such programs, however like to clash other programs at the same time, or just not attend. . . i recall there being a few open (not jathabandi based programs) and the turnout isnt that good. . . is there a reason?

I wont comment on raagmala and kes or mool mantr issue in this post as its not required.

The need for khalistan is a must as per the bachan of sant gyani jarnail singh '' the day the government attacks sri darbaar sahib, the foundation stone of khalistan will be layed''

Also we forget the 1986 sarbat khalsa ardaas. . if soo watch the below video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfOLbhvVMQU

I reccomend to all to personally read the book se kinehya (sant harnam singh ji rampur khera) as alot of references by pwalla are from this book. .. its totally amazing.

There are singhs in leicester that do a similar abhiyaas kamai camp every month (the timetable is similar to that of sant harnam singhs camps), it would be nice to see singhs from all backgrounds and jathas attending, as at the moment its just mainly taksali based and if we want this ekta then i feel that we may have to attend these open joint camps. i personally go to rensbhais, to help with this ekta issue. khalsa jee if you want to speak wrt the points raised why not just actually meet up with the singhs you know and speak about them (reference being made to the tops)

any other point regarding ekta just come and chat to the singhs you know.

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
