i would say its brainwashing which leads to forced conversion, police isnt gonna agree with this because they dont think it happens.

wat do u guys say?

pull chuk marf

Present the evidence and the police will act. Rumours and hearsay are not evidence. Its time for the Gurdwara lecturers to present facts to government authorities.

unfortunatley its never that simple, imagine if your a girl who hs been drugged and pictures have been taken , you are told that if you do not do what they say they will post your pictures and videos on the internet and to all your friends and family , woul dyou stroll down to the police station ??? how much besti is that ??? It's pyschplogical manipulation.

This is one kind scenario, what about others? Its about gathering evidence. Police have dealt with many similar cases outside of this conversion issue. They can handle issues sensitively. Once police have gathered evidence they will persue cases themselves.

Simple observations:

Do we accept that there is an 'extremist' element of Islam preaching in UK. ( think abu hamza!, think new hate preaching laws!)

Were the 9/11 and 7/7 bombers and the shoe bomber 'forced' to carry out these acts?

Do you think these young impressionable men were in fact 'groomed' to carry out these EXTREMIST attacks?

Do you think EXTREMISM is just limited to violence?

A form of extremist preaching is "convert someone by any means, and you will get heaven"

Does it sound so unbelievable? When we think they used this tactic to get people to blow themselves up?

There is no smoke without fire.

The government banned groups like al mujaharoun and hizbul ul tarin, but the people and the ideology continues in campuses.

It took years for government to recognise young british men were being 'groomed' for terrorism, yet they do a 3 week inquiry into 'groomed' conversions... that’s a joke!

All the evidence is there, you’ll have to break down cultural taboos to locate it!

Whats gurdwara commitee's need to do is provide central awareness of tactics and motives of muslim males by refering to islamic scrpitures that justify what they do.

Grooming for conversion by islamics is done convertly, so to highlight the dangers in an awareness campagin would be helpful.

Who are these Sikh leaders, who have the power and money to fund awareness campagins? While they sitting on their lazy backsides their daughters, nieces, etc are being groomed in schools, colleges and uni's or on social networking sites (hi5, myspace, ratedesi, etc).

I would like to make one quick point but don’t want to go off the topic too much. My personal opinion is that these ‘groups’ need to get funding and some of this comes from ‘shops cafes kebab houses etc etc’ not all of it some of it. I would ask everyone in the future to be careful were they shop. It may sound silly but trust me it does play a part. When people come around for Islamic relief and shops are able to donate from their profits and you have brought food and even that 5p can play a part and how long before them 5p’s add up. Take constructive action we are able to so lets do it.

They have their own Islamic business directory this is so their businesses prosper. Everyone is aware a big part of their religion is to convert the richer they get the more powerful they become. Its time to start thinking with our heads fists alone can not win this war.

After the intelligence failings of the 7/7 terrorist attacks who in the right mind trusts the Police?

What evidence does the Police require for 'forced conversions' they "@"*£^$" up the case of Banaz Mahmod the 20 year girl murdered by her own father and uncle - this was after she complained to the Police she feared for the life after falling in love with a fellow moslem.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6722699.stm

This is the same Police force who have still failed to bring the killers of Stephen Lawrence to justice 14 years after his murder As the poet of Benjamin Zephaniah said in a tribute to Stephen Lawrence memory:-

What Stephen Lawrence Has Taught Us

(from 'Too Black, Too Strong')

"We know who the killers are,

We have watched them strut before us

As proud as sick Mussolinis,

We have watched them strut before us

Compassionless and arrogant,

They paraded before us,

Like angels of death

Protected by the law.

The Police the so called protectors of the Law failed the British Public on 7/7/2005 and have certainly failed the Sikh Community on the issue of 'forced conversions'.

No --- in actual fact it is increasingly looking like the forced conversion issue is an urban myth and rumour mongering being used by Sikh extremists to foment hatred and violence by whipping up hysteria and seeking some kind of power or leadership.

After having examined the instances and finding no evidence of any forced conversions the police now have to face being insulted and slandered by the likes of you. Amazing.

We have Sikh mobs trying to burn entire families to death in Birmingham, going around with axes, going on marches, and all for nothing --- all for rumour and hearsay and nothing substantial.

So what should angry Sikhs do now? Turn their anger against the police? Fight with them instead?

What a nasty picture the Sikhs of Birmingham are painting to the world.

The issue isnt forced conversion!

Its grooming vunerable non-muslim girls at educational establishments to convert also, having a covert hidden agenda in order brainwash the emtionally weak girls into changing reilgion and for-saking their families.

No other religion I know has these devious methods embedded within their people. Only islam with its dark globalist agenda wants to play the numbers game and make sure that ideology is dominant.

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
