Farla Represents...

Fom what I've read it does represent the Ganges. It is in imitation of the river which frows from the matted hair of Shiva. But then the real question should be is a farla something that Guru Gobind Singh started or is it a later innovation little know outside Nihang circles. If you research deeper you will realise that elaborate rituals surrounding Jhatka, Sukha, Farla, Domala have more to do with Tantric/Devi worship Hinduism then they have to do with Guru Gobind Singh.

Farla was introduced for Nishaan Sahib so the person holding Nishaan Sahib would not have to hold the Nishaan Sahib and would be able to participate in battle. How true is this? Don't know but it makes sense. Farlaa looks crazy. That is all we need to worry about. Guru Granth Sahib Ji doesn't say don't wear a farlaa. There are other bad things and Guru Nindya which Nihungs do that we need to worry about.
