Akal Takhat Jathedhar Mr Vedanti was today at soho road gurdwara, birmingham.

He gave a talk on how and why the akal takhat was created and the need for bhagti and shakti...

But alas when he mentioned the major events that we all need to give special focus to this year, they were the 500th anniversary of Guru Angad Dev Ji's birthday, 400th aniv of Guru Granth Sahib Ji's pelha parkash, and the 300 aniv of the Sahibzadeh's shaheedi.

But strangly enough the guy who is meant to be the jathedhar of the akal takhat forgot to mention, that the very same akal takhat was destroyed by military action 20 years ago as well, ha also forgot to mention the thousands of sikhs murdered in november!

This guy meant to represent our panth yet the clown cant even openly talk about issues as above. It made me sick, that this guy could just stand there and not even mention it! He was holding a 3ft kirpan in his hands, i wonder what thats for, since he seems like he doesnt give a damn for justice for the sikhs and the usage of it!

Wanted to question him, but were told we would not have the chance as he didnt want to be asked any questions... but dont worry we shall have him on the hot spot soon! Lets see what he says when hes asked' what is he and the akal thakat doing for the freedom of khalistan as advocated by the sarbat khalsa in 1986 from the akal thakat'.

But still!!!!!!! :) @

Sorry for being a bit angry... but the worst thing is whatever we say, wher

ever we say it, WERE the ones who are gonna be called extremists, trouble makers, terrorists etc!!!

LOL its old news to these ears now but still! It cheeses you off, esp when so called gursikhs with 24/7 simran accuse you of doing nothing for the panth and just causing trouble!! lol.. itching fists man!!!! wacko.gif

anyway i think he's in the uk for a few weeks, if you get the chance try and get him to see where we are coming from!

Sat Sri Akal:

Rochak Sahib Ji, Jathedars of the Akal Thakat are selected by the SGPC. Because of that, they are employees and subordinates of the SGPC.

It is a VERY tough job to be a Jathedar of the Akal Thakat Sahib these days. On one hand, you have the people, who want Sikhism to be restored to its former glory and on the other, you have the puppet regime of the SGPC, whose interests in Sikhism spell poison for their Delhi-blood seats.

When a Jathedar takes a stand for Sikhism, they are usually removed from their position. When Jathedars side with the SGPC to prevent any controversies and keep the status quo, they are jeered at by the Sikh populace.

The long-term objective (unless someone can achieve it quicker... :e: ) is to make the Akal Thakat the Supreme power of the Sikhs, with the SGPC as its subordinates. The powers of Delhi were not stupid. When the SGPC arose as the dominant power of the Sikhs post-Gurudwara struggles of the early 20th century, the Delhi political dera infiltrated the SGPC with sellouts to control the Sikhs. When Sikhism rises to a collective awareness and unifies, the first thing to throw out are those leaders in the SGPC and to make sure that the Akal Thakat is the Supreme power. Think about it, if the Sikh populace stands behind a Jathedar as a unified people, what can the SGPC do? Of course, to counter this, liquor, drugs and lewdness is continuously imported into the Divine Lands of the Guru Sahiban.

Yes, the position of the Akal Thakat is Supreme to the Sikhs.

BUT, it is a Sikh office. It is the Sikh populace's right to make sure they are being represented correctly. So if the Sikhs, in the majority, find that the Jathedar is not representing them correctly, then he/she should be removed and replaced with someone better. That is the authority that belongs to the Sikhs, NOT the SGPC. But until the Sikhs get that collective unity and conciousness, expect the status quo.

Just remember, the more that someone is to fall (aka the Delhi dera), the higher the Almighty lets them climb the ladder.

mr singh just because someone questions jathedar vedanti doesn't mean we do not respect the authority of Akal Takhat Sahib. Don't be so narrow minded, if the Jathedar of the akal Takhat downplays operation bluestar, well as a sikh, you better be thinking. It is because we respect Sri Akal Takhat Sahib that we are questioning the jathedar, which seems like another puppet. So many times people feel these kinds of fugures are above us all, saintly or something, Jathedar vedanti is no saint, if he says anything about downplaying teh 20th anniverssary of darbar sahib attack im sure his name will be on the LIST. Nbody has questioned the Hukamnamas because they are sacred and uncorrupt, but vedanti is only a man, and thus susceptible to corruption.
