its just a way to make sikhs consider Guru granth sahib as a moorti as well. put a nice rumalla on top, some flowers, but don't read it, oh no, its not meant to be read, because if we read it we would hear shabads which shun moorti pooja.

guru granth sahib ji says that if this stone is a devta, then one stone we worship and one we step on, why isn't the one we step on also a devta? and guru granth sahib also says that the moorti people feed is lifeless, the offerings made to the moortis are eaten by the pandits.

guru sahib also says that a moorti which needs to be clothed and washed etc by people, what can it do for us? you see people bathing these things, clothing it, such a lifeless stone, how can it feed and clothe us?

these shabads are aplenty in SGGS ji, but they are not heard in gurdwaras, i think they are on some list of censored shabads not heard in gurughars because "raagis" gianis" don't want to upset paying moorti worshippers and people of other faiths which drop money in the golak.

stop making SGGSJ a moorti and read it. there are 1431 angs for god's sakes, guru sahib obviously wanted us to do a lot of reading.

peace.

I have a question.

Why doesn't Sikhism tolerate heretics ?

Sometimes when I look at Sikhism (as displayed on this forum), Hinduism or even Christianism it seems to mirror Islamist or talibanic/wahabbi tendencies of keeping the religion 'pure'.

Are religions unknowingly copying Islamist idelology at the same time while wanting to distinguish itself from them ?

No offence intended.

peace

Can the conflict between Sikhs and Nirankaris and Sacha Sauda wallas be comapared to differences between Catholicism and Protestants/Orthodox Christianity.

there are some Christian sects like Seventh Day Adventists, Mormons who more closely match Sauda like sects.
