WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA

WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

I need all of ur views on name DEEDAAR KAUR for a newly born baby ( my uncle's daughter )

Some old minded people who belongs to pend ( villages in india ) dnt really appreciate this name because they think this name sounds very old like puriania budian wala name.

But i really like this name and indian trend is to keep names with suffix like preet, meet, jeet, jot, inder, deep, meet etcetc

but i have seen many gursikhs in west countries are changing this trend and choosing very puratan names which are unique these days and not common like the names we have.

the names like

kudrat singh

gurparsad singh

kirpa singh

etc

etc

the name DEEDAAR is actually a synonym of name darshan which is very common name.

the word DEEDAAR also comes in many gurbani lines

like

this is such a rare word which comes only 11 times in SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB, mostly the word dashan comes

4 times used by BHAI NAND LAL SINGH JI in the GAZALS, he recited in praise of GURU GOBIND SINGH JI

and only 1 time used by GURU GOBIND SINGH JI

here are the gurbani lines contaning this word

Nice name :D

But one thing in sikhi which i really lyke is that a girl or a boy can havv the same name E.g. Balbir

Shows our how unqiue our faith really is. These days ive been hearing names lyke " Pretty Kaur"

Wonder were they abandoned that beautiful note "Sikhi"

Nice name though :D
