</h3><h3 class="UIIntentionalStory_Message">

</h3><h3 class="UIIntentionalStory_Message">Bhai Hari Singh Nalwa was a true Sikh. He forced the Afgans to wear the Salwar as he captured the area now known as Afganistan. He sent out an order that all men who cannot stand up and fight against the Sikhs would from now on wear the salwar because there is no difference between the Afgan men and the Afgan women who wore the Salwar. This was meant to disgrace the Afgan men who had previously thought they were the most warlike of all men. Its is a fact.</h3>

Does anyone have the section were this can be found in any granth.

I know all muslim men where this today that baggie kind of kurta salwar

I don't think this is true personally. It's probably just an old story to take the mick out of Afghans.

Sardar Hari singh nalwa was a fierce sikh warrior. The Afghans were scared of him and his army. Being a true Khasla - Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa would not touch women or children of the afghans. The afghan men started to grow their hair and wear salwars to disguise themselves as women - that is fact! This is how afghans/muslims came to wear the salwar - which they call their national dress.

I have heard also that to this date in afghanistan, when children cry, the afghan women stop them by saying 'Hari singh will come if you do not stop crying'

its true, and is not slandering the afghans, they did it to avoid getting battered and it made it easier for them to melt into local populations. hari singh nalwa was the a true star of the khalsa and a real leader in the punjab. many of the european officers in the sikh army where jealous of him as he was intelligent and eloquent but had not spent years in a western military academy. the british feared him, and said that if he had control of the sikh army or the resources of all india, he would have ruled the world.

A very popular nineteenth century British newspaper, <banned word filter activated>-Bits, made a comparative analysis of great generals of the world and arrived at the following conclusion:

"Some people might think that Napoleon was a great General. Some might name Marshall Hendenburgh, Lord Kitchener, General Karobzey or Duke of Wellington etc. And some going further might say Halaku Khan, Genghis Khan, Changez Khan, Richard or Allaudin etc. But let me tell you that in the North of India a General of the name of Hari Singh Nalwa of the Sikhs prevailed. Had he lived longer and had the sources and artillery of the British, he would have conquered most of Asia and Europe…."[15]

traditional and most common dress of women in those years was ghagra this dress code was even followed in punjab ... so saying salwar was the symbol of women dress code during maharaja ranjeet singhs era does not hold any ground according to me ...

marshal of the khalsa, even mahrajah ranjit singh feared him, need generals like that back now to rule the khalsa and take us away from india...

well why dont you become a khalsa commandeer? train hard, learn the necessary things and you can lead others. dont expect others to lead as you will end up with leaders who look after themselves first at your expense.
