sikh youth summer camp

one of the camps that has been going for the last 10 years (this year is their 10th anniversary) is the summer sikh youth camp by west coast sikh youth alliance.

the camp will be for youth aged 10-25 and it's a 7 day retreat from august 27 to september 3.

it will be held at a beautiful campsite in kelowna, bc and there will be lectures, workshops, presentations, evening and morning kirtan darbars, swimming, boating, canoeing, tubing, hockey, basketball, yoga, meditation, langar (of course), gatka / shastar vidya and more.

the gatka instructors include bhai uptej singh jee, one of the most well known and most talented instructors in the world, along some other students in the baba deep singh gatka akhara of england.

the 400th prakash divas of sri guru granth sahib jee will fall in the middle of camp and will be celebrated in many days, including a "Guru Granth Sahib Jee day" featuring lots of special events.

hopefully  they will also have some guest speakers. all of the counselors and staff will be university-age (over 18) and first-aid certified.
