Ignorance are people that dont wanna know. This is more about Propaganda war. Islamics want the whole world to be Islam, theres no douth about that. But there are good Muslims out there, some are peaceful ppl and want Islamic land without force or stupid tatics, but some more miliant Muslims would try to take land by force and try to be conning.

Sikhs outraged by radio remark May 14 2004

The BBC has been dubbed "irresponsible" by the Sikh community in Coventry after a guest on a radio show said she had read that Guru Nanak Singh, the founder of Sikhism, was Satan.

The guest, referred to only as "Kiri", was speaking on the Sonia Deol show on the BBC's Asian Network on Tuesday.

Dalwinder Singh, 28, Coventry representative of the British Organisation of Sikh Students, is among hundreds of British Sikhs who say they're outraged by the comment.

IT analyst Mr Singh, of Keresley, said the BBC should broadcast a programme clarifying the make-up of the Sikh religion - and said the woman responsible for the comment should have had to give her full name.

"This has a terrible, negative impact on Sikhs - ignorance is what leads to violence and this should not have been allowed to go out as it promotes intolerance," said Mr Singh.

"What was said is extremely offensive and the BBC should have screened their guests better because, by not giving her name, the caller was not responsible for her words.

"The BBC should make up for this by having a more informative programme on the Sikh religion."

Mohan Singh, chairman of the Sikh Research Trust, a national organisation, said the comments were an attack at the "heart of Sikhism".

Speaking on behalf of organisations including the Council of Sikh Gurdwaras Coventry, Mr Singh said: "Calling the founder of the Sikh religion Satan is unbelievable - how could the BBC have allowed this to happen?"

A BBC spokeswoman said the show had included two guests with families including people of

different faiths chosen to discuss their family situations.

"One guest made some totally unplanned and unexpected comments about the Sikh faith which we recognise were extremely offensive," the spokeswoman said.

"Our presenter, Sonia Deol, immediately challenged those views and the producer allowed calls from both Muslim and Sikh listeners, who were outraged by her comments.

"The BBC of course sincerely apologises for the offence caused and the guest in question will not appear again on the Asian Network."

The British Sikh Consult-tative Forum, set to meet in Birmingham, said the comments from the show would be at the top of its agenda.

On Tuesday 11th May 2004 on the BBC Asian Network programme, which Sonia Deol

presented from 9am to 12.00.

Guru Nanak, the first Guru of the Sikhs was called a devil. And other derogatory

comments were made regarding the Sikh religion.

After listening to the programme, it seems to me that this girl wasn’t even

Sikh, she had no knowledge of Sikhi, which even a 5 year old would know.

She had claimed that she was considering conversion to Islam, but it was obvious

that she already regarded herself as a Muslim, as she frequently used the phase

“we Muslims....”

We therefore had on this show a Muslim girl insulting the Sikh religion live on

the BBC. So this is where our taxes are going?

And without jumping to conclusions, it seen quite obvious that she was in fact a

Muslim, and was only on the show to insult Sikhs. And that the extremist views

which she was allowed expressed live on air, are the same as those expressed by

some banned Islamic organisation in the UK.

So why was she allowed on this show?

Surly the BBC would have some vetting procedure?

This cannot be tolerated.

I think everyone is taking this too far and in the wrong direction.

1) BBC didnt know she was going to say that. So you cant blame them for wat she said.

2) It wasnt her falut, it was her so called Sikh father's for not teaching her anything and yet still trying to pretend to be a sikh.

and how do you know that this girl is a 'sikh' and that this wasnt setup
