Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Gauree on Pannaa 191

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਭਲੇ ਦਿਨਸ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥

Bẖale ḏinas bẖale sanjog.

Auspicious is the day, and auspicious is the chance,

ਜਿਤੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰਜੋਗ ॥੧॥

Jiṯ bẖete pārbarahm nirjog. ||1||

which brought me to the Supreme Lord God, the Unjoined, Unlimited One. ||1||

ਓਹ ਬੇਲਾ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥

Oh belā ka▫o ha▫o bal jā▫o.

I am a sacrifice to that time,

ਜਿਤੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਜਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Jiṯ merā man japai har nā▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.

when my mind chants the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਸਫਲ ਓਹ ਘਰੀ ॥

Safal mūraṯ safal oh gẖarī.

Blessed is that moment, and blessed is that time,

ਜਿਤੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੀ ॥੨॥

Jiṯ rasnā ucẖrai har harī. ||2||

when my tongue chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Haree. ||2||

ਸਫਲੁ ਓਹੁ ਮਾਥਾ ਸੰਤ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਸਿ ॥

Safal oh māthā sanṯ namaskāras.

Blessed is that forehead, which bows in humility to the Saints.

ਚਰਣ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਚਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ॥੩॥

Cẖaraṇ punīṯ cẖalėh har mārag. ||3||

Sacred are those feet, which walk on the Lord's Path. ||3||

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਮ ॥

Kaho Nānak bẖalā merā karam.

Says Nanak, auspicious is my karma,

ਜਿਤੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੬੦॥੧੨੯॥

Jiṯ bẖete sāḏẖū ke cẖaran. ||4||60||129||

which has led me to touch the Feet of the Holy. ||4||60||129||

Maah dhivas moorath bhalae jis ko nadhar karae.

The months, the days, and the moments are auspicious,

for those upon whom the Lord casts His Glance of Grace.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਰਸ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਰੇ ॥੧੪॥੧॥

Naanak mangai dharas dhaan kirapaa karahu harae ||14||1||

Nanak begs for the blessing of Your Vision,

O Lord. Please, shower Your Mercy upon us! ||14||1||

First, accept death, and give up any hope of life.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਭੀ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਂਹਿ ॥

Gursikẖāʼn kī har ḏẖūṛ ḏėh ham pāpī bẖī gaṯ pāʼnhi.

O Lord, please bless me with the dust of the feet of the Guru's Sikhs. I am a sinner - please save me.
