I am a mona and someone asked me about the 5ks. I did my best to explain. I think i didnt explain the reasons why a sikh has to wear a Kanga very well.

Can someone give me a couple of basic reasons?

Thankyou.

My reasons so forgive if offensive.

First and foremost Guru Ji's command.

Removes static from kesh.

Revitalises a tired and weary head.

Prevents migraine.

The Kanga should be wooden , not metal or plastic.

How can a static charge be removed from an object without grounding it? It can't!

Kanga does not remove static, it avoids one getting statically charged in the first place. It's well known that a plastic comb when rubbed with hair will create a static charge which kills brain cells, a wooden comb (i.e. kanga) will not.

Wahegurji ka Khalsa , Wahegurji ki Fateh

Once I heard Pinderpal Singh ji say that the teeth of the Kanga should reminds us of the of the Shaheeds who were tortured on those deadly wheels with sharp thorns .. I know I ain't making much sense when I say this , I am a very poor katha-vachak :( I will try and find the audio of that katha by Pinderpal Singh ji.
