Rapid Population Increase And Reincarnation

Guys, I have a question... Please answer if you can..

How can the population increase (rapid increase at that) be explained in respect to reincarnation and gurbani?

Is akalpurakh creating and putting 'new' souls into the life/death cycle as old souls attain salvation?

Do we have any sort of gurbani references for any of these questions or is this something we should just 'accept'.

This is just my personal view i may well be wrong but, the human population is growing at an increased rate but there is many animal species that are becoming extinct, maybe they are being reincarnated as humans therefore there is an increased rate in human population?

2 points:

there are an unknown number of galaxies / solar systems / planets out there supporting life. the soul from a body dying on one of those planets can easily be reincarnated here. most modern scientists also now recognise the possibility of life on other planets, although Gurmat mentioned this long ago.

second point, many lower life forms are dying out, those souls have to go somewhere.

Yes, I've had these thought also, then I think... why are all these beings coming into the human form at such a rate?

Does this mean that animals can do bhagti, therefore speeding up their time in the cycle? - but then I think that surely, you cannot shorten the cycle..

In addition to what Sunsingh has said, some people being born today could have died thousands of years ago, gone through narak/sachkhand/other lifeforms etc. You need to look into the whole theory of karma and what happens to the atma. Deep Katha of Gurbani by Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji is a good place to start, but this isn't something that you can understand in one day.

Ah, I'm glad you said this paaji.. This is like a double edge sword for me.

Do you believe that there is a 'soul' in plants? - I think they're producers, created to sustain us, ie.. it's ok to eat them/their fruit.

if they too are 'soulful' creatures then, my whole argument of vegetarianism is thrown out of the window.. lol ergo causing more distress to me!

I don't know if animals can do bhagti, but long before many more people used to die than people are dying now i think and that when sinners died and turned into animals, now their bodies are being recarnated and their being free from the 8 billion lives
