Although England winning Euro 2004 was one of my worst nightmares, this is the best chance they had to win it. If they had beaten Portugal they would have faced either Holland or sweden both teams which England are capable of beating and then in the final anything could have happened!.

did anyone comment france is out because of greece 1-0? oh and that swiss ref apologised to sven goran erikson for his blunder in the england vs portugal match. the ref was also a cheater who cheated on his wife for the 1st women referee.

I read that as well. If you read the story carefully there is no proof that the Ref had apologised to Sven. Both did not comment on what they chatted about when Sven went to see the Ref after the match. Anyway the Ref official comment was something like ' England needed someone to blame and so they are blaming me'

England is all about excuses. How about Sven taking some responsibility for the negative way that England played as well as his naff substitutions. How about David Beckham taking some responsibility for not being able to show some leadership and not taking the game by the scruff of the neck and taking the game to the Portugese. All Beckham could do was complain about the penalty spot.

ive to say i agree with virji bikramjit there.. england are just looking for scapegoats to put the blame on... why cant beckham for once say that he's too lousy to be a leader.. too much problems has definately affected his way of playing (not that he use to play any better last time) ...
